How did the install go for you?

I also see your battpos to PDC looks to be also #4 wire.

    Damn, 700K miles. Wow!

I bought the Big 7 kit as well, but I only installed the ground to the block/frame, ground to the battery/fender and the alternator/battery. The kit is well made and I'm happy with it. I just need to install the rest. Lol

Did you get 7 cables or 6 cables? If you got 7, do you know what your cables were labeled?

I just started the install of this kit myself. I removed my entire front harness yesterday, but didn’t get a chance to start test fitting the new cables.

I am in the middle of an auto-to-manual transmission swap, as well as an alternator upgrade, so will be watching this thread as the OP is likely to finish the install long before me. Of course, not having an alternator (or transmission) in the truck does make getting to the cables a bit easier. The toughest part was getting the white plastic wire loom off the front of the engine.

Frank. Do you know what the cables were labeled at the end of your black cables?

Hi Justin. Yes, I’m pretty sure all my cables were labeled on both ends. I’ll double-check in the morning and post a picture.

My longer black cable says ENG BLK on one end and BATT NEG on the other. The short one says FENDER on one end and BATT NEG on other.

I have one smaller red cable that says PDC on one end and BATT POS on the other. What does the PDC stand for?

I started putting this together today. Does the cable marked ‘PDC’ replace the white cable that runs out of the bottom of the fuse box? And if so, does the fuse box come apart so you can remove the stock (white) one and run the new (red) one up to top of the box (my finger pointing to it):

@BossFan your fuse box is different than mine. What color is the wire under your finger? Is the connection point labels + or -?

Give Jeepcables a call and ask to speak with tech Paul. He answered my questions and was very helpful. Customer service has been A+.

My kit came with 6 wires

    + side:
    BATTPOS/PDC
    ALT/FUSE
    BATTPOS/STARTER
    BATTPOS/FUSE

    - side:
    BATTNEG/FENDER
    BATTNEG/ENG BLK

    They sent me:
A negative wire that I haven't had the chance to check. I believe it is a ENG BLK/BDY FRAME cable.

You only received two black wires?

I also recently bought this kit and only received 6 wires... 4 positives and 2 negatives. I also had the same question about the PDC wire.
I reached out to JeepCables with these questions and they got back super quick, great customer service!!

    Here are their answers:

    1. The 3.4l engine only needs 6 wires, the "big 7" naming is more of a generic title.
    2. PDC stands for "Power Distribution Center" AKA fusebox! So you were right in assuming that it replaces the white lead running from battery positive to the fusebox.

Also the video on their site shows a good way to replace the PDC wire, there are 4 tabs that disconnect the fuses from the box so you can access the connection underneath.

Good luck with the rest of your install, can't wait to get mine in too!

Yeah. I was going to give them a call about it but then I read @Wyoming post that the 6 is all I really need.

In that photo, my finger is pointing to the post where the larger white wire that runs out of the bottom of the fuse box gets attached. The other end of that goes to positive side of battery.

Not to hijack this thread, but my kit came with 4 different fuses for the fuse block they sent: 150, 200, 250, 300 amp. I installed the Suzuki 105 amp alternator. Shouldn’t my fuse rating be closer to the amperage of the alternator or does that not matter? I was just going to run the 150 amp unless you all think I should get something lower.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I was excited to add to the wealth of info on these forums, it almost seems there is nothing new to be said! Haha.

I finally got around to installing my wires this week and had the same concern. 150A seems high for my stock alt. I ended up going the same route as you and installed the 150A, mostly for lack of a better (lower?) option...

My install went smoothly, my only issue was a slight change in the wiring inside my fusebox to accommodate the ABS (03 tacoma- wish I had an 02). My stock "PDC" wire had a second lead coupled to it that leads to a extra set of fuses for the ABS. It was getting late and I didn't want the extra can of worms of trying to retrofit the new lead to accept the extra wire, especially with the little to no slack on the coupled wire. So... I left that wire as is. I'll attach a picture of what I found for reference. (red is wire coming from battery, blue is wire heading to ABS fuse)IMG_4572.jpg

I guess 5 out of 6 wires upgraded is good enough... I can't imagine there is that much current flowing into the fusebox so I hope that would be the best wire to leave stock.
