I had no idea what to do with that color frame lol. Everything else I own is dark and purple.

I saw those...honestly I wanted to add a bit more "pop" to the bike, given its relatively subdued colorway and I really like PNW grips. Had them on several bikes.

What the heck. I just bought the Ergon. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

The oil slick clamp gives a nice subtle pop, if that counts for anything.

I’ve enjoyed the PNW I have as well. Current personal fav grips are Deity Slimfits.

Less forgiving than a full DH rig, but more agile I'm sure.

    190/170 currently.

Still, like to try something like a true DH.

I'd love to pick something like this up

    Damn!

I’d be curious on what the cost of manufacturing is.

I saw those this morning...As cool looking as they are for that price I'd go eeWings. I will give them credit that those side cuts look pretty technical from a machining point of view. Idk how machining has changed in like 10 years though because that's the last time I've been in a machine shop haha.

this is more a knock on Sram but I absolutely hate the 8 bolt chain ring mount. I broke like 2 screws and that's with using a park tool torque wrench at the correct torque, I believe 3NM. Since they broke via torque (rather than shearing) there was a little bit of a point to the end so extracting them was the biggest pain in the ass.

Back to ride 5 though, there was a video going around last week that didn't make them look great. It had to do with a guy's cranks breaking and customer service not doing great.

To be fair I watched that guys videos. I feel he over blew a lot of it for followers.
Yes customer service guy was a prick, but I would've gotten tired of it and just said we've got your warranty coming next day air. None of that, do you want warranty or not. Just simple, we've got your replacement coming next day air with a return label for your current cranks.

That's all he as a customer needs to know, the less said the better as far as recalls.
Again, handled completely incorrect, but the guy was reaching.

I just read this entire thread on the new crankset

Speaking of warranty, just reached out to Fezzari about an issue I'm having with the King Peak. I'll hold judgement until it's over, but we're going to see how their warranty department does handing it.

Yeah they both could have handled it better.

That thread definitely seems to be all over the place. I am intrigued by some of their points haha

I assume most bike companies are using aluminum hardware. Is that not true?

I have stripped the shock mount bolt on my Offering though. It's torqued for now, so I'm not touching it, but I'll need to replace it next time I remove the shock for servicing. I think I'll be ordering a set of these Huc-Tec bolts now!

speaking of pivot hardware, should i add more blue loctite to the bolt that goes through the bottom of my shock? i should get my shock back sometime this week. i've washed my bike and everything is pretty clean. the bolt has some of the old loctite on there. do i get that off and add new stuff? it is recommended by transition to use blue loctite on one of the bolts

I would clean off old hardware and clean the re-used hardware thoroughly.

Yes, they are. I’m just saying that the price they ask for some of the higher end frames titanium should be used. My Intense came with Ti hardware. Evil is a high end frame.

That's the plan but I would bring two bikes if you wanted laps on the DH bike

I hate that checking the weather changes almost every hour. It says it's raining there, but it may not rain at all there on the mountain.
I'll know for sure tomorrow since that's the cut off to sign up. Leaning heavily towards it though.

I just don't want to get out there and it be like TN nationals doing the slip n slide.

Agreed that Evil is a high end frame. I was just curious if many other high end frames were including Ti hardware, but it sounds like this is an issue that many bike manufacturers could follow Intense's lead on.
