What a great playoff season so far. Hoping to hear Bergeron, Krejci, and Marchand are retiring soon

    Brand new, first post.
Yeah he does that all the time but I hate the Rags and would rather Canes play the Devils. Just don’t wanna find myself pulling for the same team as the whiz of oz.

Boston losing is hilarious. I hope Coach Maurice chirped Marchand in the handshake line. But we see this all too often when a team looks unstoppable in the regular season. I don't know what it is but maybe it's just once they face some real pressure they don't know how to handle it. Either way not sure many saw that coming.

So being a first round playoff series it isn’t quite to the level of the ‘Super Bowl helmet catch’ or the ‘1986 World Series 10th inning Buckner error’, but that had to cut deep in Bean Town. Best regular season ever, and it’s now just a statistic in the record books. Only 59 seconds away from advancing and still possibly being the best season ever.

Ya, nothing but respect to the teams that remain. However, the teams I would pull for was the Wild (out) and the Rangers (friends team)

It's the modern NHL. People poke fun at the Canadian teams, especially the Leafs, for not winning it all but it's insanely difficult to ice a cup team in the modern era. Any team can win on any night. There are no easy wins, especially in May. Some of the most successful teams of the last ten years had to hit the perfect mix of hitting a star in the middle rounds of the draft and keeping them underpaid, using LTIR to hide star players for the regular season, and having a goalie get hot late in the year. Boston went cold at the wrong time, that's all.

Your team was supposed to get to the second round so the Leafs could exercise all of their demons in one year.

As much as I love the Canes, this is not their year. Too many injuries.

I think Toronto is the best team left.

I thought Matthews was going to break his wrist in the Stamkos fight. I pooped a little when it happened.

You don’t want your superstars fighting, as a general rule…very little upside.

Stamkos was playing the angles. He spoke with the ref, found out they would be down, and picked a fight with Matthews as Matthews was picking up his teammate's sticks. The Bolts were brilliant in trying to remove TOs stars from key plays though Jon Cooper will never admit to it.

    Well said.
I understand the sentiment, we had to pull up a couple AHL players for the playoffs. Drury has played games with the Canes a number of times but he was injured during the 1st round (should be good for the 2nd). Maceachern’s very first NHL game was in the playoffs and he scored a goal.
I expected a first round win but any win after that is just bonus hockey. Not ready to concede anything at this point, let’s just see how far we can go.

If canes go down before the finals I don’t have a favorite but if the Leafs win the cup it will be a well deserved long time coming. If the canes somehow unexpectedly win the cup with their “next man up” lineup it will be well earned.

I promise to cheer for the canes if they are winning and also cheer for the other team if they are winning :fistbump:

Yes its normal for ESPN and I hate it...please write sportsnet and TSN and tell them not to do that because Canadian broadcasts are what get me through the regular season.

Saw some rumblings about Hellebuck not being interested in sticking around for a rebuild. And shortly after, then Pens were posted as the top potential landing spot. That would honestly be amazing. I hope that can happen.

Also, Wheeler crying about how Coach Bowness called them out, is so soft. No wonder they took the 'C' away. Every time that guy has talked in the last 3 years, he just seems like such a crybaby. I used to really like him but I think he has really hurt his reputation lately.
