Hello all, I recently broke a leaf in the middle of the pack on the driver side and am obviously going to need to replace it. I figure I might as well do both packs at the same time. I have been scouring around for some clean 3rd gen take offs but there is nothing local to me (Upstate NY not near any major cities). I have found some on ebay but shipping is pretty insane and they seem overpriced for take offs compared to what I've seen on here. I am not looking to lift the truck, though I may go through and put 5100s on in the future. I don't tow anything and rarely put a lot of weight in back.

Looking on suggestions for aftermarket or a different source for clean takeoffs

I understand that 3rd gen fits second gen but are the leafs universal for all models, will takeoffs from a shortbed fit a longbed?

Truck: 2013 TRD Sport DCLB ~85,000 miles

    Thanks!

There is a recall on some 2nd gen leaf packs. That being said, not sure if 2013s are included. Can go to Toyota’s website and enter your VIN to see if it’s included in the recall. I believe one of the reasons for the recall was broken leafs on drivers side could puncture the fuel tank.

You are correct, but I don't think the 2013 is included. I checked my VIN and it does not come up with a recall.

Ha not turn this into an Upstate thread but I grew up in Chemung. The grow up part might be debatable however LOL and at almost 65 years young not likely to change soon. Uh Oh looks like it got narrowed down even more now to the Southern Tier.

2013 Baja and just got back from the dealer an hour ago. Replacement springs are $2269 from the dealer as a heads up. Not going to happen so I am in similar situation. Waiting on a call back from the local garage here in Mn. that I use for a quote from them. For that much money could install a set of Deaver Stage 1 and have some change left over. I am going with the Toyota Baja Shocks that need replaced however. Following....

If you end up not getting a recall, or upgrading to something better let me know, I may have some takeoffs, I’m outside Ithaca.
