vibes earplugs, will never go to another show without them in or out. Pretty discreet, and now i leave shows with full hearing intact. They just turn down the volume a bit, but still clear. They are not like wearing foam which muffles

After paint! Probably gonna do some self etch primer and then a hammer finish gold rattlecan. I did briefly consider matte clear over the raw aluminum but I know they'll get eaten up if I'm 20 seconds late swapping for winter wheels.

That's probably a good idea! It's crazy how quickly the winters and salt sneaks up on you in the Northeast.

MA has tons of them: https://www.mass.gov/doc/passenger-plates-manual-0/download

My last plates were normal ones with the number "9PAS90". For some reason everyone felt the need to comment on that (saying they could just remember "99"), and for some reason it annoyed me. So I ordered the United We Stand ones a few years ago to get rid of that number. They look better anyway, and support good causes.

I am a complete offroad n00b, with light interest in checking out a trail or something. When and where to go? What equipment and advice to take with me?

Dont go solo. Most trails in VT are open now not sure about other states. Do you have any protection. Skid plates, sliders etc. Are you ready for possible body damage

Depends on what you're looking to do. If you've never been at all I'd suggest finding some logging roads or fire roads and just get a feel for how the truck reacts.
Best is to never go alone and bring drinks and at least snacks in case anything happens. Charged phone and if you want you can get a CB setup, GMRS setup or get your HAM license for radios.

Just conscientiously be aware that taking your truck in the woods means you bring the risk of dents, scratches and damage up by quite a bit. I have 2 decent dents in my truck from coming down hard trails and just driving over a big stick just right to have it kick up into the fender. And to also be aware that stuff can break and shit happens. Could get a flat, could have a stick rip off your ABS wires. There's a lot of fluke possibilities out there

    Great points, sensible and responsible.

Now, by "solo" do you mean the only human or the only vehicle?

Water, snacks, GPS, CB/HAM, be prepared for survival, I got all that covered. But the truck part, that is all new. Logging roads sound great. What is a good step after that?

Zero protection whatsoever on the truck, bone stock from dealer lot. But I am certainly open to reasonable/lowcost mods.

    Solo is one truck,,

if you’re going to play in the woods around rocks and trees I would invest in sliders and ifs skid at minimum.

@Brownmatthall has one for sale, I have one for sale as well but has no trap door for turd gen oil changes

Both. If you are alone in your truck, and something goes wrong, that's no bueno. If you have someone else there, in your truck, that's also not great BUT you at least have someone else there to help move/communicate as needed.

Around these parts/dirt roads, not a big deal. When we go up to the north maine woods (3.5 million acres or something like that) we don't go with less than 3 vehicles :D
