Almost 1,400 miles driven in the month of April, even with the truck being parked for a week while I was in Hilton Head!

 

Amanda and I went over to Ryan's on Saturday and played BeamNG.drive...

 

One of my favorite vehicles in the simulator is this 2WD SUV, a mishmash of the Chevy K5 Blazer and Ford Bronco. The front end is clearly based on that of a 1980-1986 Ford Bronco, but "Gavril" seems to be knockoff of Chevy and it has a lot more GM details than Ford details. The Bronco was never offered in 2WD, and the K5 was only available with 4WD after about 1982, but it was possible to get the 2-door Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon in 2WD from 1995 to 1999...

 

The interior, especially the dashboard, looks more like that of a 1987-1991 and 1991-1996 Ford Bronco than anything every seen in a comparable GM SUV...

 

Even though this is supposed to be a late 1980s-early 1990s vehicle, not the old school analog radio...

 

This variant has a massive V8 and tops out at exactly 140 MPH!

One of the most fun parts of BeamNG.drive is, without a doubt, the very realistic crashing! This is what the Gavril looked like after crashing at almost top speed...

 

I purposely made the parts fall off and set it on fire...

 

Until Saturday, I had no idea that it was possible to add a trailer hitch to any vehicle in the game. I added one to a Fiat 500-like rear engine car and pulled a trailer similar to the one seen being pulled by the Gavril below. It did tow it, but it wouldn't hit 30 MPH and ended up overheating. The Gavril towed the trailer effortlessly, but this is a dangerously improperly loaded trailer that you could select, and I kept spinning out...

 

This variant of the SUV does not have a hitch, but as stated above, it is possible to add one to any vehicle...

 

After crashing with the camper attached...

 

When a vehicle is run after being flipped, the engine becomes starved of oil. Some vehicles in BeamNG seize up almost immediately, but the V8 in this thing was damn near indestructible...
