Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

Greetings. I spent the rainy weekend getting the Prinsu rack on, along with awning, grab handles, and light bar wired up. Just a cheap light bar from Amazon but holy hell is it bright.

 

The guy getting it ready to go in the water (me) does though.

 

Some commute this morning. Flooding, closed roads, and a killer pothole on The Hutch must've taken out a ture on at least 6 cars that were on the shoulder this morning and it was only 6am. Good thing I commute in an old shitbox that has small wheels and some sidewall on the tires.

 

My last job was outside sales and had me commuting through that area all the time going to Newark, Long Island, Orange county, etc. So glad I don't need to see those roads anymore and now I have pure back roads to and from the office.

 

Only one Monday this week, don't sweat it

 

A little over 8 years until I can retire and never come to this sh1t hole city again.

Oof. Definitely dont miss commuting to our White Plains office once a week.

 

Used to have to ride the taconic down to elmsford every morning, definitely don't miss that drive at all (though my current commute back isn't all that much better lol)

 

Where have I heard that one a thousand times before.

 

Gross.

I was in my apartment in Tariffville (Simsbury) at the time. So Tariffville to White plains- 84 to 684. Office is right by 287 and the Hutch. Used to leave at 430 to get to get to the office early in a attempt to beat most of the traffic. Put in my time and was usually leaving the office around 330.

All I have to say is fk that commute- even if it was only once a week.

 

I know exactly where the building is and yikes is it bad in the morning, saw mill isn't any better either

 

When I took that job, my territory was supposed to be RI, Eastern CT, Western MA, and VT (I live in central CT, so it was perfect. Day 1 they changed my territory to Western CT, Long Island, NYC, Northern NJ, and a few counties in Eastern NY. I was looking for a new job from day 1. Having to drive into NYC is miserable! One appointment I had was at the world trade center. I left home an hour early, got there an hour late, missed the appointment. Only good benefits to the job was a company car (not paying for gas was amazing) and completely free health insurance. Was not worth the stress of driving and also having to make sales on a product I knew nothing about and was not being taught anything about.

Now I have my dream job with a 25 minute commute all backroads, and 2 days a week from home. Only bummer is now paying for gas again and having to do so in the tacoma! Before the taco I had a TDI and of course now diesel is down to nearly regular fuel prices. When it was nearly $7 a gallon, I wasn't doing much better than when we drove the wife's rav4 getting 25mpg on regular.

Have to do a JFK run next week.
I get Agita with any travel downstream of Westport.
Just hate going in that direction.

 

Removed those steel sleeves that stick out of the front "crashbar" to hold up the long since removed front air dam and put these plastic plugs in. Sometimes it's the little things.

 

Too funny, I lived in WP for a year..I was 5-6 years old though
