Hockey Trash Talk & BS thread

Found out my three day a week hour and half hockey practice one of the guys is someone I have not seen since 1972. WHA,NHL and then AHL cleveland baron defensemen Wayne Muloun shows up. First saw him do a then new hip check. Was a treat to chat and skate with him even though time and injuries have taken a toll on him.

Yeah, we have Root, unfortunately no more locally televised games, so everyone is pissed, especially because John Foreslund is our play by play and either JT Brown does color or Eddie Olczyk does color and JT rink side. Hopefully John and Edzo continue to do broadcasts through the playoffs, they’ve been doing a ton of games (did LA/Edmonton, a few others I watched), the two of them together are awesome.

Not sure if you guys had Lea Hextall for any games this year, can’t stand her, she sounds like a tea kettle, like nails on a chalkboard.

 

Hextall’s voice destroys any enjoyment of the game I hope she doesn’t playcall any 2nd round canes games.low volume monotone grating sound with a spike up in frequency on the last word of most sentences. Mono-sing songy lol.
You have an excellent broadcaster in Foreslund, he was the Canes play caller for many years.
We have Bally Sports with Mike Maniscalco play calling and Tripp Tracy, like them a lot and glad they had round 1. Won’t be covering remaining rounds unfortunately.

 

We have Marc Moser (play-by-play) and Mark Rycroft (Former Aves, commentary) and the TV Crew had Adam Foote and John-Michael Liles (former Aves) so they are all pretty good and always biased Katie Gauss is part of the TV crew that does the player interviews and she's pretty good as well.

 

We’ve got Piper Shaw doing player interviews

She’s a doll, and she knows her shit, great questions compared to the girl they used last year who does a lot of Mariners games and was completely out of her element (and not nearly as easy on the eyes)

 

Will your half support continue into next years regular season when Canes meet up with your Bolts?

Pretty sure thats not going to happen because what is the point anyway ? You need a video game name tag over a player when they're on the powerplay but for some reason you don't need that 5 on 5 ? Like whats the fucking point of that anyway ?

Maybe I'm in minority here but I can't call that a dirty hit. I know the dude can be dirty but I don't know what he's supposed to do there? Timo cutting in through, crossing the blue line, leaned forward with 3 Rangers around him. Keep your f'n head up. How do these guys not know that? Probably because D-men don't step up like that as often, so they just get lax. Entering the O-zone is the most dangerous area to get smacked with a legal hit. These guys need to know that it's a possibility that someone will smoke you. Trouba is square to him and went thru him. It is impossible to not have head contact when you are staring at your skate laces. If we are talking blind hits, hits from behind etc then I'm all for cracking down on that. But that is just a guy delivering a monster open ice hit on a guy who got too comfortable entering the zone. He didn't protect himself or have enough awareness to keep his head up. I know these days that is not a good enough argument for most people but if that's the case, then might as well just take-away open ice hits.

 

Me thinks that whatever team wins the cup, you’ll be their #1 long time fan.
