Just got back from running some errands on the bike, and doing a few circles and figure eights in an empty parking lot. I can't believe how alien it feels to be on a bike again. I really am basically starting from scratch, but I loved it.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

I should be able to buff it out, scratches don’t seem to be that deep.

Got my order of Monkey parts in, the side steps look like they'll be sweet on there, but it's missing one of the fork stanchion covers/guards. Ughhhh:annoyed: also got my tuned ECU in, exhaust should ship tomorrow :bikewheelie2:

Too nice today, so I went for a short pleasure ride. Just around town and down some country roads. Little bike is vibey as heck, though. My right hand went kinda numb. All the reviews for the 2022+ models said they had reduced all the vibrations, so I'm kinda disappointed in that aspect, but still had a perma-grin.

52 miles on it, and I can't complain about the MPG so far. With a 4.7 gallon tank I should be able to get 300 miles per tank without much worry. :D This is all 55 mph max. I'm sure it'll drop if I go on faster roads, but I am happy for now.

Oh, no! It may be possible to buff it out. Do you have a nice orbital buffer, pads and compounds?

I know guys that have helped bar vibrations with various things like different bar end weights, filling the bars with various things, different bar clamps, bar crossmembers etc. All fairly cheap to do, might be worth some experimenting.

Yeah, I know nothing about where to start on that. I'll be on nights starting Wednesday, so I can research then. I'll also likely order the T-Rex Racing barkbuster brackets. If I'm lucky that added weight will tame it down, but I'm not usually that lucky.

Two things I'd mention: 1) make sure your bars are rotated so the bend fits your palm nicely. Turning your hands too far in or out to make up for poor fitting bars can cause numbness. I think it's the ulnar nerve? 2) pay attention to how hard you're gripping, especially when you're just getting back into the saddle. Consciously telling yourself to loosen up your grip can help reduce numbness, too. Happened to me when I got my F800 and was nervous as hell for a while.
