Id be lying if said I wasn’t looking at a 7.0 short block (stroker 6.2) online yesterday. If I do end up going the LS route, I might try going with big cubes so I could try to keep it n/a

Do you know of any good full time AWD transfer cases that LS folks use? That is the one thing besides wiring that’s making me not want to swap. To get a manual and AWD behind the LS, is going to be big $$$ and I already have quite a bit tied up in my new 5spd and crawl box/AWD t-case.

We’ll say goodbye to the Toyota 8.4 actually 8.25” and go to a minimum of and get a 3rd gen. 8.75”. Or most likely a Ford 9”. Better start reading up on a 7.0L / 427 LS7.

Lol I definitely don’t have LS7 monies, but definitely something 6+ liters if I’m going to go through the trouble of the swap. I still think I may try a forged 4 banger before then since it will drop right in and all I need to do is change the wastegate spring and get a tune

I found another LS Swapper!
Follow @WormSquirts he’s going with a newer LT L92 (6.2) w/ direct injection and over 500 HP.
I bet with a little work and some nice go fast parts it wouldn’t be to hard to get 550 to 575 HP to the ground. But then you definitely need a 3rd gen 8.75” rear diff. or a 9” Ford.
I wanted an LT L86 (5.3) with over 375 HP then w/ L92 intake manifold and a cam it’s pushing 450 HP & 500 lbs of TQ on reg. pump gas. Sorry to say even with 25 lbs of boost on a 2TR your not getting anywhere close to that.

 

That is inaccurate, about with 25 psi. Too many variables for that blanket statement.

 

I'm still working on the internal cage currently, but I'll be moving on to mounting the engine pretty soon so I can sort out the 4link and engine cage.

Stock l92 has around 400hp, and my build should be close to 500hp. Would love 600hp to help turn the 39s but I have a higher stall converter that should also help

Is that intake manifold from a different vehicle and modified to fit the 2TR?

 

Might be custom. I know a guy that has one for sale for the 2TR. It is part VW I believe, and part 2TR. @05Taco4x4 had some part to do with it. Maybe making the flange for the head? Been so long that I cannot remember.

 

Actually, he may have sold it to @BassAckwards already. Not sure of that either.

 

I've got one as well. He had the adapter flange cnc'd to make the vw intake work.
