Chevy needs to give themselves another JD Power award. Colorado has been a turd since inception.

I saw a commercial for the new Colorado.

My first instinct was “is that a Tacoma”

Putting GM opinions aside, midsize trucks are all starting to look the same.

Toyota and GM are almost sharing the same corporate design language. Not that I have seen any of these trucks in person. I like the look of the GMC over the Chevy, GMC usually cost a little more so that's probably why it looks better. The Chevy don't look bad the ZR2 looks like a miniature TRX. GM will probably clear bigger tires than the new Toyota.

I lurk on their forum and it’s so dead. Not a reason to buy or not buy, but the forum activity here is a good way to stay engaged in my truck.

It's been about 11 years but that was always slow for the 5 years I had my Colorado. It was surprising (in a good way) to see how active this place is after being there.

Seen a new Colorado today Sand Dune Tan or what ever GM calls it, I guess it was an LT. Definitely wasn't a ZR2, don't think it was a Trail Boss. I think it had CO tags, out of state what ever they were. Seen it twice actually unless two people had the exact same truck.

    Edit

Maybe it wwasa trail boss, it had black wheels. I thought the bumper was monochrome, and it had partial tailgate letter inserts, what ever Chevy has going on with that.

They look good inside and out. I think a 2024 would be better so they can tweak packages. For example a loaded AT4 should come with the larger instrument cluster, not the shitty one.

The dual screen display does look cool, I think that's copied from the full size trucks. The dual screens are also bit much for my taste it's kind of busy and distracting. I also don't like that you can't control the lights through anything other than the screen. GM really needs to pull their head from their ass and employ a physical headlight switch. You have to take your eyes off the road go through at least two screen settings just to activate the fog lights. and No an automated sysyem to control the lights is not a better solution.

Ya the lights is the dumbest thing ever. So when your screen dies in 8 years you have no ability to turn your lights on or off basically.

Yeah it's dumb, maybe it's for when matrix headlights find their way on the truck, but it's still dumb that you have no control over the lights.

I like Ford's light switch you can physically control every function of the headlights. On/Off, parking lights on, set it & forget it which also activates the DRL and fogs on/off with the parking lights or low beams.

Toyota operates in a similar fashion, and the stalk is less distracting than the dash mounted switch.

It's all ergonomics and common sense.

Automated would be better than the screen as anything is better than the square wheel.

Fortunately it's a GM so the screen dying at 8 years means it still significantly outlives the engine.

The one thing I hate about my Tacoma is the high and mighty attitude of Tacoma owners. I’d trade my 3.5 motor for the 3.6 or 2.7 from a GM all day long.

I traded my 2020 TRD Pro in recently for a 2021 Colorado ZR2 with the Diesel made by VM Motori.

On my drive home from Dallas Texas to Kansas City Missouri I got 32MPG and had 1/4 tank left of a 21 gallon tank. Didn’t stop for fuel one time

Never shifted at all. Just pulled the Ozark mountains no problem.

One thing I'm particularly glad my Taco does not have is that stupid shutting the engine off when you stop and restarting it when you take off again. I hate that.

That’s exactly why I got rid of mine. Out in Kansas and Missouri on the hills and the wind all the time I was getting 15MPG and it spent a lot of time in 4th gear at 3K RPM. And it was OTT tuned.

    Got a 21 ZR2 with the diesel.

Yesterday 20mph winds. With 40 mph wind gusts, 180 miles and I got 23-24.

Normal days in mixed I get 26-28

    Straight highway. 30+

And it RARELY shifts out of OD

Can relate though I think all fangroups see that.

To be open, I made my comment after having my 2006 Colorado puke the head at 70K and 4 years old.

True, all things seem to have their own fanboys. However, the Tacoma fanboys are by far the most rabid set of fanboys I've ever seen. Most blindly defend Toyota as if it was their virgin sister. Many absolutely flat out refuse to acknowledge that there are other trucks out there that are more capable and are built better. They also seem to know someone who owns/owned every single other make and model of vehicle known to man...and if it's not a Toyota, they've all narrowly escaped death from driving those non-Toyota vehicles. They quickly dismiss any magazine/online organization that says ANYTHING negative about the Tacoma, yet praises them when they say good things about the Tacoma. In short, Tacoma fanboys are a funny bunch. And no, not everyone who drives a Tacoma is a fanboy. Many of us just liked the truck more than the others when it came time to buy.

That's a Trail Boss. They base that trim off of the WT truck, which is kind of odd. That's how they "keep the price down." But it has the flat panel front end, no led lights, no telescoping steering wheel and other things. I still like the look and overall idea of that truck and package but I wish they had a trim level that was sort of equal to the TRD OR. I would've thought the Z71 would be that but they sort of took the Z71 in another direction. It's not offroad focused at all anymore.
