You're assuming somebody could actually find a Tacoma frame in a pick and pull junkyard - which is doubtful.

Went looking for a charcoal canister, did not see one single Tacoma, staff also said "good luck" finding a Tacoma.

car-part.com or try a specialty Toyota junk yard. Here in Denver we have at least two junkyards that specialize in Toyota trucks and SUVs

Need to think outside the box. Lots of vehicles use the same parts.

I needed a transmission cooler for my Tundra.

LKQ wanted $250, Toyota wanted $550.

I found one from a Sequoia for $75.

So you are saying he could find a frame from another truck for cheaper and somehow make it fit his Tacoma? What frame would that be exactly?

My good friend works at an automotive recycler. so that means they strip wrecks down and strip parts and engines, stuff that is good. I've asked about spares. and he has said a few times, if you think there is a Tacoma I'm stripping down you know it's been though some stuff. You probably don't want it. but if you do let me know ill find it.

Coilovers, sway bars, wheels, tires, extended studs, intake, head and taillights, seats, short shifter,
Seen several Tacomas hit LKQ by me over the years. Thing is, you need to check the inventory like a hawk. You also need to get there within the first two days if you want any parts off it. In your case, since you want the frame, come about a week after it arrives. It will be picked clean such that all that's left is a frame and the cab. Should be easy to take then, just unbolt the cab. You rent one of the big hoists they have and roll it up to the line.

The only Tacoma I ever saw in a Pick and Pull junkyard around here was in Buffalo, NY about 3 years ago. It had been hit really, really hard in the left front. It was also stripped absolutely clean. I remember telling my son, "All that's left is the VIN #."

I just searched car-part.com and there were a bunch that came up for a 4WD double cab short bed. Prices were $1200 - $1700ish.
