Nice! I have my eye on a PSA 5.7 Rock but damn the 5.7 ammo is pricey. Hasn’t ever stopped me before tho…:D

Be careful with the buttons as I've read that they peel off from rubbing on holsters/gear due to the large overhang off the side of the slide.

Thanks I’ll watch for that. I had to trim the holster for it to fit no part of the sight goes inside it and it’s OWB holster but still good to keep an eye on it

Just shot the PSA 5.7 Rock a week ago with some friends. What a difference after shooting my.45 ACP. The Rock is next on the buy list.

There is the overhang but after trimming holster there’s no conflict

I wanted a Glock 17 Gen 5. I had about half the parts (ok....maybe a little less than half) already. Build or Buy was the question ..... so I gave in and built.

    Glock (ish) 17 Gen 5:
Nomad Frame 9F with back strap and magwell
    Nomad Recoil Spring
Glock Performance Trigger (read Timney clone)
Zev 17 Gen 5 Duty Slide

    PMM Barrel and Micro Comp
Holosun EPS MRS Optic (this was REALLY fun to mount .... NOT)

took a chance on an ebay Model 11 stock. three series of this gun during its production and stocks do not interchange.
original finish, no cracks or chips (rarity), and fiddy dollars. got it yesterday. took off the semi-gloss remnants with green scotchbrite and hit it with a couple thin coats of tung oil. redhead buttpad cleaned up nice too.
    IMG_1310.jpg
    now proper.

An M16A2 build just sounds so fun in the endless sea of cookie cutter Mforgeries everyone is building.

Ironically a clone is way more unique than what most people are building these days. Plus a carry handle just sounds like a fun changeup.

@montijo505 and @TomTwo sifhted the Eotech in today with defensive Amo 9 shots and done. Not much difference between it and ball ammo. The optic is no frills pretty simple but the glass is clear with no tint and dot is easy to acquire. I sighted it at 15 yards with a rest then we went and shot steel. I have some more tinkering to do with sighting but happy so far. I have only one other sight to compare to a Vortex and I preferred this one. Even with my astigmatism it was clear outdoors. I do not regret my purchase.

Very nice Chris! thanks for the input. 15 yards is perfect for a handgun. I need to save up some money after my summer vacation to Alaska and get one.
