They were on from the start......

For some reason in our area it's also the raptor idiots who drive around with their hidden light bar on during the day as well.

Same argument really. Guy's driving along with his ditch lights on without realizing, another truck flashes his own ditch lights. Guy thinks he's saying hello, guy thinks he's turning his on and then off again while actually turning them off and back on again. It's quite plausible this guy is not a douche bag and may possibly someone you have a lot in common with.

Is the "premium" sound system really that bad?

Coming from someone who has built systems in every car they've owned since the mid 00's, yes. But it's leaps and bounds ahead of what comes in the standard Tacoma's.

I get where you're going and would love to give him the benefit of the doubt but it seems to be the norm for people to be driving around with their ditch/lightbars on here and not the other way around. If someone flashed me with their ditch lights my first reaction would be to check that mine weren't on accidentally.

Yeah, I just replaced both front and rear speakers in my stock system non JBL.
After replacing the speakers it sounds much better, except for the rear speakers. I'm guessing they limit the power to those since the stock speakers were tiny.
Now with the replacement speakers, they are severely under powered.

Fair enough. Just seems like there's very little evidence to support the fact this driver is a douche bag, idiot, waste of space as opposed to a like minded driver that inadvertently made a simple mistake. Maybe he's a driver that likes to drive around blinding people. But then why not run headlights and fog lights as well. Maybe he goes home after work and slaps his wife around. Or maybe he just lost his job and found out his kid got hurt at school and accidentally hit his ditch light switch with his knee in a hurry to get in the truck and be by their side at the hospital. Now he's stuck in traffic in a hurry to get there. And maybe his spirits were lifted a bit when another truck flashed his lights to say Hey buddy. I'd just feel bad to have passed all this judgement on him because of something so inconsequential. Maybe I'm just too soft.

Isopropyl alcohol worked really well for mine. Goo Gone helped but the alcohol took it off much faster.

installed the tailgate power lock. My first bigger thing I've done, thanks to a lot of help from YouTube. Turned out to be way easier than I thought it would be and sooooo much more convenient

Do you travel with the rear rack or stow it until you get to the beach?

No drilling needed for the RCI Offroad and I picked it over the prinsu for more than a couple of reasons!
