Shame it's in June. Could have done a Shoshone lake run! Haha

Haha do you have any trucks prepped for that? We'll do a little tooling around but nothing crazy. Gotta get home and I don't feel like fixing shit on this trip... It's been good though, finally getting to my neglected maintenance items.

I mean Igor is still fine. Although I don't have a good skid plate so probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to do..but I'd do it haha

Also I lost my knife this winter. The sheath cracked at the snap and I didn't notice so it fell out in the snow. Boss found it the other day haha

Any tips on removing the rust other than sanding? Do I need to redip in acid?

Dang bud! Send er back and I'll get it fixed up. Sorry the sheath broke? Did an eyelet rip out or what? If you have access to a sandblaster with glass beads let it rip and clean it up.

Don't need acid. I used a Caswell oxide finish to blacken it. I can sandblast and re finish it if you want.

It cracked right at the snap. I have it kind of on the front of my belt so I think it just got fatigued over time getting pushed on by my leg when id sit down. Was fuckin so pissed and sad when I lost it. pretty stoked to find it.

Cool Well i'll send it back, plus that other knife project I never got around to mailing you ha

Had a question for those of you that live in WY full time. I’m out every year gps surveying from May to July. Every other year I’ve been given a govt truck. This year I am being paid to use my truck and was wondering what type of tire most people run on all the gravel county roads. Last year I did over 2100 miles on gravel but it was a provided truck. Am I correct In assuming an LT at would be my best bet? And if so any recommendations as to what you’ve seen used that aren’t prone to chunking? I tore some tires up last year on the govt truck but this year it’s my dime. Thanks for your time.

I put about 20k on my truck/year. On and off road for work. Had good luck with a variety of tires over the years. The one that I felt lasted the longest was a Michelin LTX. Rode good and wasn't so agressive that it was throwing up rocks on the county roads. Currently running BFG KO2s

Just to show you this is where it broke.

The whole snap is about to break off really. Didn't realize the back was cracked as bad.

I miss carrying it though. But hauling my old buck knife around as a replacement and it's freaking huge in my pocket and heavy.

Dang, haven't seen that before. I'll maybe try a different clip or just leave more material there around the snap?

Yeah idk. I mean this is from wearing it basically above my left front pocket. So it was just getting torqued against my leg every time I would sit down. Which sadly is a lot given my job... Not sure there is a way to tweak the design that would avoid that without making it more uncomfortable.

I might just have to move it to a different spot. I just liked it there as it kept it very close at hand and also kept the handle from getting caught on anything.

Leather would work well I bet. I'll make it accept a vertical clip too so you can try that way too. I'll text ya later so we don't completely clog up the thread with this

Hey @BossFoss do your at3 on the runner have a hum to them? Got them on the truck yesterday and they've definitely got a audible hum compared to the ko2. I'm hoping they wear in and stop humming

I'll have to listen next time I'm in there. I want to say no because the tires they replaced had a hum from cupping and it was nice to have it quiet.

Does the new taco get a 4runner style rear end? Saw something today that looks like an arm and not a leaf pack... May 19th reveal?
