im getting quoted $40,200 for 2022 Ram 1500 classic warlocks with the Hemi

    they’re stickering @ $54,000

you think a basic Tacoma Off road is worth the same as a full size pretty well equipped with a V8? Idk

Those classic warlocks are corny as hell lol. But you can get a new Silverado or sierra with the 4cy turbo for low to mid 40s right now. Close to a base model truck but on par with a Tacoma interior wise.

Full size truck prices are going to continue to fall. For the consumer who just wants the latest and greatest and cycles their trucks out every few years, it's going to be hard for them to want to pick a Tacoma over a full size when they are the same price.

It’s May. Of 2023. You’re basically purchasing a used truck (depreciation wise).

Plus it’s a classic. Nothing against those trucks, but they are an old design.

Yeah, if they’re heavily discounting when others are still marking up, or at least getting MSRP,,,, that tells me something. I’m not anti Ram, I actually like the newer ones, but it’s gonna take a long long time for anything remotely Cry-slur to earn my biz back.

It tells me Toyota is releasing trucks at the rate they want, and not at the rate they used to. It’s keeping Toyota pricing high while others are producing max capacity and have extra inventory. Why are people still waiting for tacoma builds for months? They seem to be playing the market the way they want.

It is if you don't WANT or need a full sized pickup with a V8. It's all about what a person wants, not necessarily the price.

Understood, I’m just saying the market is shifting down- Toyota seems to be one of the few that are sticking around MSRP atm

A grand or 2 off sticker isn't unrealistic on new Tacoma's, but dealers are padding that back with lowball trade offers, addendums and overpriced doc fees.

My local Ford dealer is still trying to negotiate from msrp on new vehicles and as much as 15k markups on new Raptors. Bronco's are marked up as well. The "best" offer I was presented last week was 10k markup on a new Raptor. I'm still holding out for a better offer.

I wouldn't buy anything Chevy or Ram. The Hellcats are nice although my local dealers want 30k markups on those and the Ram TRX's.

Any reputable brand will try not to flood the market and devalue their own product. The fact remains, they’re in high demand. Bigger isn’t better in my book, but I do hope the Ram does good for you.

    Wouldn't 20% of 63k be 12,600, or total reduced price of $50,400?

I think the big 3 pumped out a ton of trucks in the last year hoping trucks sales would stay elevated for at least another year or 2. They didn't expect this crazy interest rate hike. A 60k truck is WAY less affordable for people when they are forced to finance at an 9% interest rate. It changes payments by a few hundred dollars a month.

But you just said they were holding back.
Hope you enjoy your Ram, I’m not gonna poo poo it. I don’t need you to justify your purchase to me.
Our back n forth is venturing off topic, and to remain respectful to the rest of the community, I’ll end it here.
