    Whats up fishing freaks! Got a dumb question for you guys; how well would a freshwater 3000 size reel hold up to some saltwater surf fishing? I've only ever bass fished, and will be taking a beach vacation soon - thinking about trying to snag some early morning surf fishing a few days down there, but honestly know nothing about it, and don't plan on buying a bunch of gear I'll never use again. I have a couple bass pro shops qualifier spinning reels in the 3000 flavor, and quite honestly, they're way bigger than I thought they'd be and I don't even use them because of it. Would they make for "decent enough" surf fishing reels on maybe a couple cheap $30 surf rods with some heavy braid/fluoro?

    If you don't plan on ever using them I wouldn't worry about it too much, just use them, I would think they'd be fine.
    You may want to look into renting some gear? I have no idea, but I bet that's a thing on the coast.

    When your done for the day, dip them in a 5 gal bucket of fresh water for a min and swish
    Them and let it air dry.
