What’s weird is, nobody knows what the difference is between the 2WD and 4WD.
Tow different part #, why? I have no idea.

I know its crazy but after doing the digging for about fifteen minutes I found the difference between the two. Had me confused until i started digging into it.

Go to AutoZone and "rent" their u-joint tool. It makes changing out the u-joints easy. I just did this job a month or so ago.

Not much. I was able to do it in an hour with just a ball peened hammer and a pliers. Make sure to buy spare cir clips. The ones I bought were too large so I use some I got from Amazon that was thinner than the thinnest clip that came with the box. Make sure you get the heavy duty spicer ujoints. The aftermarket ones and the OEM ones are the exact same joint. Same with the bearing.

I did get the heavy duty ujoints so that is a plus and they do come with the clips I found ujoints as well as the spicer support bearing on ebay for 100$ brand new from a toyota dealership in ft lauderdale which is a steal and messaged them before I made the purchase.

The whole job took about 4 hours once I had the drive shaft out of the truck. It may take some less time, but it was my first time doing a job like this.

Lower your carrier bearing with a few washers, to decrease the angle and let some stress off of the u-joints

The 4wd bearing has dust shields vs the 2wd which doesn't. A lot of websites have the pictures wrong
