I’m still enjoying this bottle. Lots of burn, but lots of flavor. Cheers.

I’ve yet to have a Penelope I didn’t enjoy. Really looking forward to trying some of their finished bottles.

Yeah I was worried since I paid a large amount for a pour in NYC to finally try some and was disappointed. Cracked this one tonight and dang I am absolutely impressed for the price.

After I cracked it my wife surprised me with a set of these as an early birthday present.

Went out in the south side of Chicago in search of JD 10/12 today. Missed the 10 by one person in a store, passed on both at 199/299 at one place and negotiated down to 129 for the 10 year at one place but wanted me to open it there to prove I wasn't a reseller. Since I've got to fly it back to PA that was a no-go.

The search continues. In the meantime I did meet some super nice people and got to know the area a bit.

@Hook78 can tell the story better than me, but the short of it is he ran across a store, I think in Maryland, while traveling that had a LOT of excellent stuff and the owner was willing to let it go at reasonable prices because it was clear it was being purchased for consumption.

Perhaps I'm a bit too much of a ruthless capitalist, but I find these moments odd. Economics is just numbers in my world.

Yeah I did see it listed as coming soon. That's why I was ok passing it up, I also travel so much it's entirely possible I miss the PA drop.

Hmm I am starting to smell a bourbon night in our future with JD 10 and a couple 1792 Full Proofs.

Your bonsai is looking a little thirsty, but I would feed it a little water though and save the whiskey for yourself haha

Just tried some this evening at a whiskey bar. I didn't care for it much. Just tasted like a slightly better JD, nothing special. I see it all the time at my local stores so wanted to try it before buying. Glad I did.
