All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
@backcountryj Come on even if you ain’t got a bike. I know you’re good on 2 wheels. We would have a ball!

I will be down there this weekend, and most likely the next. Not sure if I am camping the week thru or not. I could be down to meet up though next weekend.

    Right on!

I’ll reach out if my weekend frees up this week, or if we get out there next weekend.
My neighbor is checking on availablity on a unit to take out. That’s kinda the deciding factor if we can go or not.

If one is to go the super tenere route, definitely look into the year differences. 2014 brought some changes that are desirable for longevity etc. (That stated with a few swap of parts the gen 1 2013 and older Super tens have been known to go 100+k miles no prob)

    All of these.

When I rode my BMW home from LA to SD, I was terrified of it, and thus death-gripping the bars. that, coupled with the different vibrations of an inline 4 vs the parallel twin I was used to, my throttle hand was absolutely buzzing by the time I got it back down to my shop for a once-over, and kept buzzing for like an hour afterwards lol.

Never had that issue since becoming more comfortable and relaxed on the bike. Look into some new bar-ends weights, those can help a lot with vibrations. Could also throw a pair of those foam handlebar pads on em...forget what they're called. something like these though. Will also help with the forearm pump as you won't be as clenched. I recently cut mine off and might throw another set on

Yeah, I was looking at the picture more closely and noticed the oval shape wear on the sprocket, gonna get a kit and do both sprockets and chain. The kinks are from it sitting for just over a month in the humidity and me not keeping the chain lubed also.

Couldn’t stand not being able to see anything in the stock mirror so I bent one of them down to see if it helps and removed the other one. Looks a lot better to me and I don’t know if I want a Navi mirror anymore.

Looking at this jammer. Has an auto clutch, so you can use the clutch or not. Would be good for beginners to learn some clutch control and shifting.
I started on a quad first, mainly as that was what was around. But I do think it helped me at the very beginning understand throttle and clutch control, without having to focus on balance.
Between this and a CRF110L, I think the beginner bike is covered.

my cousin had one, we beat the piss out of it on an mx track, on the street and in the woods and grassy fields

they are shaft driven, that is both a good thing and a bad thing if you ask me...

I can attest that they do take a hard beating and live to tell the tale like most any honda

great starter quad, and can put a smile on an experienced rider who just wants to throw it around like a toy

Yeah, I think it’s the best one in its class.

Strange Yamaha doesn’t have the one like this in a 250.
The 450 is just too much for beginners up where I am at (huge drop offs up here).

I do prefer the Raptor I had that was chain driven. I think the shaft drive with low maintenance and smooth power delivery makes sense here.

    yea i agree
personally i would prefer the 125 and 250 raptors if it was for my own personal use, those are very fun toys to throw around
but the trx250 is a great low maintenance machine, and basically the only option in its class
canam does have a ds250, but IMHO the honda is the better and safer choice

what i dont like about the trx250, is the stock bar setup. that quad begs for a better bar setup, a small one inch riser and a bar with a better bend is a huge upgrade, maybe throw in a front bumper rear grab bar and some nerf bars... eventually swap the rear balloon tires for a wider setup helps a good bit as well

but you know all of this already :fistbump::spending::spending::spending:

What was the last year for the 250 raptor? I remember them like 10-12 years ago.

not sure if they still had/sold them outside of the USA though... its possible asia had one but not sure about that

Looks good to me, not familiar with that model but seems perfect for the intended purpose.

My buddy had a Raptor 350 he liked but traded for a YFZ450 as he felt he was having trouble keeping up ... but we were all on faster rides

And I see what you mean, not many choices now a days. Yamaha is still holding it down but you can't get a 400/450 sport quad from Honda, Suzuki, Kawi, or Polaris.
