Maybe after my acromioplasty on 5/15 I can shoot 12ga from my shoulder again. I have a Mossberg combo pack that mom got me for 18th that includes a pistol grip. That and short barrel with 5 slugs hanging is the current config on home defense mode.

It was only 44 when I got up this morning , WTF??? And water is going to start falling from the sky tonight. This is SoCal, it's not supposed to be like this.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Precision is a fun challenge. Right now I have a couple "Tactical" shooting walls and a folding table I can put up. If you want to get precise you have to get on the ground and use sandbags or a bipod.
The world is full of odd:rolleyes: people my mother is right-handed, but left-eye dominant. Watching her shoot pistols could be considered entertaining.

I don't think you can say the Marines ever babied to their weapons. They keep them clean, but they probably fired more rounds through their weapons than any other service, including the Army, which was five times the size of the Corps. Also, when you were in the Corps, those 1911s were already 40 years old. Mom got this Colt from the CMP last week. It's a rack grade but still in reasonable condition for a gun with no arsenal rebuild marks that was made in 1944. The barrel was replaced in '85, and the grips are Korean era, but all the other parts appear to be period correct to a '44 Colt.

    Thanks,
I'd prefer your cabin over a condo.

I forgot to mention the reason for the timing of the cast and blast in Canada is the Admiral has his 50th HS reunion Sept. 16 in Wisconsin Rapids. He owns a cabin in Phillips that he hunts grouse out of. I'll be in Medford (Rib Lake) in early July for the Great Northern Shoot. After 22 years this is the last year that the Duluth Double Gun shoot will be held :pout:

It's actually fairly noisy, and has some recoil. The last pellet gun I shot was a Benjamin, hand pump in .177 caliber. It would kill Doves, Blue Jays, etc., but that was 1970's or maybe even 1960's technology. This beast is a whole 'nother story. I've only put maybe 15 pellets through it, but they sink in about 1/2"+ into a 2x4.

Still playing with pellets when I have extra money.
Still have to practice not hold it tight and let it do it’s thing.

I get fliers and such if they don’t load with the same pressure on insertion.
    Plus holding it different.

Hello again….back state-side today after our retirement/35th anniversary tour of UK and Ireland, phew. What a great place over there!
Happy Birthday, congratulations for grandkids, sorry about the ‘bifocals’, and every thing else I missed.
Last city we went to was Galway, and crossing th8s very busy bridge one night, saw a guy in waders fishing in the River Corrib (https://maps.app.goo.gl/LrHvhjzsUQ4wyn4T6?g_st=ic), weird place to fish I’d say. Couldn’t get a photo of him cause there was too much traffic to cross over!
Golfing was great and had a once in a lifetime experience.
