So I just spoke to the dealer. They want almost 8K OTD with tax(since I'm out of state). How the hell do the justify a $1700 markup on a USED bike???

Edit: After telling him the price had been cut to $6300....he came back with an OTD price of $7588 without tax

He was texting me trying to convince me it was ok. He actually tried to tell me that b/c it only had 687 miles it was still pretty new.....I told him I didn't care it was still 4yrs old and no way was I paying more than the advertised price on a used bike.

I'm over here mad as hell at the dealer trying to add $1200 to a used bike. Bitch you should be willing to negotiate for less than what it's listed for....raising the price isn't how it works

 

got to make that 25% profit. Probably doesnt make much on used inventory.

 

Then don't fucking list it at one price and then add on. That's not how the used market works. I'm not paying "dealer prep/doc fee/freight/etc" on a used vehicle.

I called the dealer that I bought my Rally from. He even remembered I was in Alabama. He's keeping an eye out for one.

Had the price been listed at $7588 plus tax, I never would have wasted my time. I suppose people are ok with it and that's why they continue to rake people over the coals.

Thats common for used cars, I deal with it every day in my line of work. When i bought my corolla the advised price was 2k lower than what i paid but i expected that. I haggled them down a little but not much else room. The vender has to make some money they arnt just going to pay someone $6,000 for a bike and then sped maybe $500 to get it ready to sell and then sell it to you for $6,600. It wouldn't be worth their time.

You're missing my point. List it at the price. Don't waste people's time with the bullshit of adding on. Had it been listed at $7588.....I wouldn't have bothered b/c that bike isn't worth that price.


That's a shitty way to do business....regardless it's the norm or not. My used bike had no markup......so I know it's possible.

 

Nah, I called the dealer I got my Rally from. They didn't pull any of that bush league bullshit the first time.....so their keeping an eye out for me.

 

Thats how they get you from just window shopping to actually come to the table. That happens most places... Im assuming you called or emailed them? How much time did that take lol? Just keep looking if thats not acceptable.
