Looking for someone near Little Rock that can either help a lady, or refer a shop to her, to get a transmission cooler installed in an FJ Cruiser for a small camper that she is buying. She has been calling local shops but they don't want to install an aftermarket Hayden cooler with a fabbed bracket. I don't understand it. Such an easy job for someone. I am in VA and cannot help her.

Lot of liability with transmission coolers and if you don't already have the lines plumbed, it's a little more work than just slapping a cooler in front of a radiator.

That's my guess as to why a lot of shops don't want to tackle it.

As long as it is installed correctly the cooler has a warranty. It is a simple tie in to the auto transmission lines before and after the radiator. She already bought a bracket to mount to the radiator frame so it isn't just zip tied to the radiator or evaporator. I installed them in the 1970's in auto tech school and then when I worked at a Ford dealer. I have done at least 15 on my own vehicles and have a big one on both of our Tacomas. I told her to take it to a camper trailer service shop where they add hitches and coolers every day. Hopefully they will take care of it for her. If I was in her area I would do the 30-45 minute job but just not close enough. It is not rocket science running an in series cooler.

Don't live there, but just got back from a 2,000 mile round trip to southern Arkansas.

    Beautiful!

Waterfalls galore, and lot of beautiful crystals right under our feet.

    Will be back for sure

If it already has an external cooler and she's just wanting one with more volume than it's super easy. If it doesn't already have an external cooler, that's where shops get hesitant because it's more than just bolting something to the radiator.

If we wanted to travel for a day of wheeling out there and not stay over night or rafffle/food/etc. (just meet people and run trails for 1 day) do we have to pay 85$/register for that?
