Temps were actually quite nice. The mountains were about mid 50s during the day. In Bishop It was around low 70s in the day and mid 30s at night. I have a quilted liner that goes inside the tent so it was perfect temp for sleeping.

I’ve only been to the area once before when I went to Alabama Hills in December. I need to make it out there more often, such an amazing area.

I used to climb a lot when I lived in Santa Cruz and was younger. Then my wife and I climbed a lot when we started dating (2006 to 2011) in the gyms. Then marriage house and kid happened..... We just picked it back up. I am reacquainting myself with outdoor climbing and gym climbing now and our Daughter is working on getting onto the local climbing team

Sweet man. Welcome back and I really hope your daughter enjoys it.

I started climbing in the Gunks circa 1998. Left on a 6 month road trip in Oct 2004. Came to Bishop in March 2005 and haven't left. Only real breaks I've taken from climbing are injury related. Got lucky and met my wife in Toulumne Meadows. She's rad and climbs damn near as hard as I do. One day I hope she can be my ropegun. lol

Saturday 92 degrees at Folsom Lake was jam packed!!!! I claim my spot at 8am. Ran into IG: Sacoverlanders, got a free patch and decal. Cool dude. Water is pretty high. Won’t be able to drive on it soon.

No wheeling recently, but I did get a vacation to Georgia and Tennessee in last week, including knocking another baseball stadium off the to-visit list.

    Pretty tough lol

Road is clear of snow, a nice dusting of snow though. A little snow flurries coming down but enjoyable. Sure is quiet out here. Still afraid to let the doggo run off without a leash.

The dirt roads and trails are officially open as of 5/1. Confirmed with the ranger earlier. But lots of campsites are still gated. Explored a couple of forest roads. Didn’t want to go too far in solo.
