Lunar Rock Gen III Thread

Well my 2023 TRD DC OR M/T showed up last Friday afternoon, so here are a few shots of it out in the wild. Ordered black out badges, and have been contemplating getting the color matched bumper covers, as well as some TRD wheels. Also, I ended up taking off the 5" oval steps off that was a PO. I like a clean look.

 

Got some new shoes! I think it looks good with the OEM trd gray wheels.

 

Did you put a trd sport hood on it ?

 

Yes I did…I actually found someone on another group that was willing to trade for my non hood scoop with the same color. Drove 7 hours to meet him (stopped by Disneyland and other places with the family to make it worth while) gave home $200 and started to exchange the hood right then and there. Finished within the hour for the install.

Just about 9500 miles now and has been a perfect family car for us.

I was considering the Retrax but was a little concerned the canister would take up too much space in the short bed. How do you feel about it so far?

 

I don't consider the loss that much, plus if you need the full bed, 4 bolts and it's out. However with it installed, it is a loss of about 18%. When my son and I head to Boy Scout Camp this summer, my opinion may change.

My previous Taco was a DCLB and I didn't fill the bed often enough to worry about it and ran a bed divider most of the time.

With all that said, my daughter is the primary Taco driver now and I'm back in my Jeep GC Summit V8, that I absolutely love.
