Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Kings are awesome for racing and instagram posts. But regular folks tend to buy, lack maintenance, some (very few ) abuse them and then sale them due to being clapped out. Again, king are awesome when you follow their maintenance schedule and you properly spec them.

Dont threaten me with a good time!
Actually, Ive been through that before, and the first one is always a miserable experience. Lol
It does remind me, though, that we used to put longer springs under samurais with longer shackles to increase droop. If the spring rate remains the same, there should be no change in right height, right?
If that is correct, then a properly sized bump, stop could prevent an extended length shock from bottoming out while still getting the advantage of extra downward wheel travel.
Or would that put the shock at rest in a bad spot as far as stroke goes? And does that even matter if it’s not a bypass shock?

Sawzalls can become too fun, too quickly. :sawzall:

For the sammy, longer shackles, longer springs etc can work yes. This is getting more into a LT setup. OEM fit shock that would allow for longer droop, would also have a longer compressed length which would eat into your up travel numbers. For high speed stuff you do not want to loose up travel numbers. Samurai, rock crawlers etc don't care about speed or up travel, so they will use really long shocks but only have like 2" of up travel. Big flex, but slow speed performance only.

I installed the front shocks and UCA's yesterday. I guessed at the preload and got very close. I gained an inch of lift in the front with 15mm thread showing at the top of the shock.
Install is not fun for one but doable with a floor jack and hand tools in a morning. I used the fox clamps, but they are PIA, if I ever have to take the reservoirs off they will go back on with hose clamps. The Fox sway bar relocation brackets cleared the stock splash guard by mm's.
The ride is improved at recommended 3 clicks in, but not a magic carpet. There is a bad pavement section on some fast (65-85mph) down hill sweepers that used to upset the truck that the truck is now perfectly stable over.
I took some video of the truck running some curbs and fat speedbumps with the stock suspension. I will repeat those with the new suspension in a week or two for comparison.
