I didn't really want to make a whole thread about this but nothing I could think of to search resulted in any real answers.

I'm thinking I'm going to be trying to move a 65" TV tomorrow night from my work apartment, to home, it was originally brought up here on the floor in the back seat of an F150, and fit in there very easily.

Now before I make myself look like an A-hole outside for 20 minutes, I'm just curious if anyone knows if it'll fit, or if they've done anything similar.

    Thanks in advance

Lmao, that's what I'm going to default to, but I'm at work for the next 6.5 hours and was hoping someone here would have attempted it. If I need to, I guess I can lay it down in the bed wrap it with a moving blanket or two

If side-to-side/width will fit "angled" in the back seat (or put the "width" vertical), put it in back seat. If you fear bending, get some 2x4s cut to length and let the TV drop/bounce against the 2x4s which is safe-enough.

Use my DCSB with a 65inch OLED in box in the back. It was sticking out at the top of the tailgate but that was because I didn't want to take off my tonneau cover. I would still get a measuring tape for sure to double check measurements but it can be done,.

I got a 65" in the bed with a shell and just bungeed it down. It was brand new in the box tho. Might be a little scarier riding back there not in the box

while not real clear, I am reading this as the OP asking if it will fit in the backseat of the cab. If so, I doubt it, I have both a 3rd gen Tacoma and a 2017 F150 with the large crew cab.
Either way, it should fit in the back, so moving blankets is a great idea. But I'd measure it out beforehand, so you are not tucking tail and loading that shit back up to your apartment.

Thanks for the responses folks, I appreciate it.

Yeah, I'll be trying to fit it in the back of the double cab like Chew said, like I did with the F150 before. It looks like it should fit, but I'll do some measuring first, and if I need to I can always pop the feet off.

The replacement will be brand new in box, that I'll just be strapping in the bed for the drive back up. Lmao

if you are dead set on getting inside the truck you typically can get better results if you lay the front passenger seat back (taking off the head rest) and going in from the driver side rear. I cant tell you if its too tall to make that orientation work.

Saw a guy at an LSU tailgate party with a 75" TV playing on his tailgate. He was in a DCSB and I guess he got it there ok even without a box. Can't rely too much on that though... LSU fans are liable to try most anything to watch the game, cook boudin, and drink beer. I'd just measure.

Personally, I would not transport a TV without the box. TV boxes are one of the very few cardboard items I keep. Without it, maybe see if the old TV fits in the new box, or you can buy a generic TV box at Home Depot.

A, it saves the screen when wrestling a large TV up and down stairs, around corners, through car doors, and in traffic.

B, You can load and strap a box in the truck bed.

    Boxes. Useful things, they are.

Agreed, however once I bought a tv in Manhattan (not a flat screen). Couldn’t fit it into the backseat of a cab, took out of the box and sat down with it on my lap. Left the box on the curb

I kept the RCI skid plate shipping boxes. They are strong enough to be useful later I think.

I got one of these a while back and its moved quite a few tvs now. They’ve got a few different sizes and then you dont gotta worry about the tv getting wrecked. Must less stressful than just trying to stuff a tv somewhere and hoping it doesnt break.

Well shit, this is actually brilliant. I don't think there's a Home Depot here, but I'm definitely going to look into this option, thanks
