The noise when sitting is normal. Its a component of the evaporation emission system, what it is exactly I don't know (but its discussed here often if you want to know).

All three of my Toyota's do it and a fourth that we no longer have used to do it as well, and as said its been discussed here a few times too.

Nothing to worry about and no need to turn the truck on to stop it, letting it run won't hurt anything. No idea why the dealership didn't know though.

Bro - I am not trying to be a jerk but trying to understand how this can happen - I mean there is no way on earth I am buying any vehicle where the seating position is horrendous for me. Was the test drive just too short and the seat was fine, and then after you had the truck you noticed after x amount of time behind the wheel the seat position becomes horrible?

It's like the people that say the truck they test drove was fine but the truck they bought was different . . . . WTF? I might test drive a vehicle like the vehicle I am interested in to get some idea of how it drives, But for sure I am going to test drive the hell out of the actual vehicle I am going to buy.

It's a similar deal when I test drove a 2020 sr 4 cylinder, and found it lacked power going up hills. I figured it even being worse for towing so I bought the six. You complain on tw about lack of power with the four, and you'll be crucified by many of these 4 banger guys.

Seriously, how fast do you want to go?

I grew up with some seriously underpowered trucks and the expectations of people these days with a factory 3 inch lift, 400+ horsepower, and 0 to 60 times that can dust an entry-level Porsche or Corvette are just ridiculous.

I need to do the quarter mile in less than 12 seconds while towing an 8000 pound boat with my Polaris SxS in the bed and my wife and 2.5 kids and dog in the cab.

I live in California and most of the “heavy duty truck stuff being done by Toyotas” is gardeners in five lug 4 cylinder Toyota pick ups with racks hauling an impossibly large amount of shit.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I never test drove mine and 13 years later I still hate it. A hay bale is more comfortable.

You’re telling me a V6 Taco cannot merge safely onto a highway?

People have been driving 4 cylinder Corolla’s, Civic’s, Mirage’s, Aveo’s, etc for years. Date back even further and you had the likes of the Yugo, Pinto, etc but we’re complaining about a V6 Tacoma that puts out 250+HP.

If you want more power, that’s great! Your money. But nothing wrong with the power in a V6 Tacoma. Push the gas pedal, it will move.

Dude, I live in the bay area. I have no problems merging and keeping up with traffic in my four-cylinder. And the ramps here, especially on the 101, 24, and 13 are notoriously short.

Yeah, I'm telling you that my Tacoma, my stock Tacoma, is barely making it to merging speed on short uphill on-ramps. Its marginally faster than my daughters 240,000 mile Prius C.

I can't imagine what it is like with a heavy load or a trailer.

You don't get to tell me what I should want just because it isn't what YOU want, you can stow that bullcrap right now.

None of my business what you do with your money. Buy what you want.

I am disagreeing with your assessment that a stock V6 Tacoma is too slow to merge onto a highway. That is all.

Nope, but I have had zero issues with fast moving and highly aggressive traffic and the other car I drive daily here is a 991.1. And I have taken this thing up to elevations above 8000 feet as well.

I’m fine with there being slower cheaper trucks out there, not everything needs to have a blown V8 and cost $90,000 especially when I don’t feel like spending more than $30,000 on a new vehicle purchase but still need a truck bed and four-wheel-drive.

Don't change the argument now, I never said anything about keeping up with traffic.

Considering it cost as much as a full size with a V8 I think its an apt comparison so stop with the strawman crap, not every other truck costs $90,000...

Why you knocking tercels? Those were indestructible. And you couldn't get rid of it if you tried.

As a first car for a teenager, you could;dnt ask for a better car. Except you had no game. Zero chics.

Correct. But to be fair to the conversation, the 0-60 time on those was lacking

I can merge and keep up with traffic. I’ve mentioned it before. The onramps here are ridiculously short. Like scary short.

I’m not exactly sure if you live in Germany and you have to drive at autobahn speeds to work, but if you put your foot down, the truck will move. Unless you put so much crap into it it can’t, but that’s every truck.

    Unbelievable.

Yep, I'll make sure to listen to your viewpoint when all yours is is telling everyone who doesn't share your view that their view on the matter is wrong.

Not the most comfortable ride (seat position), but I'm used to trucks. And it's fine for me. 6 foot tall, avg build.
I knew not to get a sunroof :)
