    TDK Super Avilyn were best though.
    I had hundreds of 'em.

    Why were they best? (I hear you asking).
    Because they almost never jammed or got eaten, providing you had a decent deck.
    It was all about tape transport and quality construction.

    If you'd made a good recording off a pristine LP, it was hard to tell the difference.
    You could tell of course, but it was quite good.
    Any tape recording, even on quality chrome tape recorded with high bias and Dolby NR... had very very faint hiss.
    Which you could detect on the dead space between songs.
