    Hey everyone!

I'm a 3rd gen owner who owns a pest management company. My business is expanding and I need to get a second truck on the road. I am looking at 2nd gen Tacos, specifically 4 bangers. Was wondering if there are anythings I need to look out for? Lower mileage 2wd here are selling for $25k, so what would be your cut off for mileage to buy a truck to run it reliably?

The 3rz 4 cyl are extremely reliable.

EDIT: Turns out the 3rz is not in the modern trucks, but the new ones are similarly reliable.

All depends on how the truck was taken care of, 2nd gen 2.7s have very few major issues and if maintained can go well over 200k.

The 3RZ was the 1st gen 2.7, 2nd gen 2.7s are the 2TR-FE but they seem to be just as reliable.

If you’re looking for a reliable cheaper work truck, might look into Frontier’s.

2nd gen 4 bangers did have the big cat converter recall. If the truck you are looking at has had its cat replaced, you are good for like 200k after its replacement the 2TR motor is bulletproof, and the 4 spd auto trans behind it as well.

The company I work for just sold the last one in our fleet. All of them had 250k plus miles on them. Only maintenance done on them was oil changes brakes and tires.
