Yay! 1st post season road win this year and 28 straight PS series with at least one. Go Dubs!

We’ll see. The Suns are a different team than the one that achieved their w/l record. And as usual, injuries are playing a big role in who advances. This is one of the deeper fields that I can recall with 2-7 seeds and a 6 winning or leading and an 8-seed pushing back as well. It’s not just a few power houses making everyone else irrelevant. Should be some good ball.

Altitude will play a factor but should both advance if GS can make quick work of LA and the Nuggets/Suns runs the full 7 then GS could spend a few days acclimating and mitigate the advantage. The Suns can’t do that.

It's been a weird playoff season. The underdogs seemed to come to play in the 1st round.

Both teams went from couldn’t lose at home to couldn’t win at home. At least the road willies are gone.

“Underdogs” has an odd sound to it when it refers to Lebron and Steph. Both teams underperformed based on marquee status but for undeniable reasons. Come playoffs though they are both more complete and healthy than at any point during the season. I don’t think the Dubs will finish if they have to rely so heavily on the starters though. That probably goes for the Lakers as well. Any blowouts will see both sides emptying the bench.
What I find striking is the odd outcomes of the seedings such that top level teams are playing other top level teams while ostensibly lower ranked teams are pitted against each other. It stems from the use of brackets rather than highest rank vs lowest remaining rank as is used in football. In the East it’s 2 vs 3 and 5 vs 7 while in the West it’s 1 vs 4 and 6 vs 7.

I've been too busy to really catch any games, all I know is Curry went bananas the other day to get past Sacramento. Hopefully I can get on the couch this week and watch some games

29-6 free throw disparity. They certainly let one team play. Can AD keep up that minutes load?

Less fouling, great 3pt shot for Klay, Lakers moving less and slower. I get the feeling they are managing LJ and AD’s effort along with the minutes. They got the split so I’d look for Lebron to go balls out game 3 and see if AD can do it again by game 4. We’ll see if the Dubs have an answer again.

Depends on who you see as the underdog! I mean records are an obvious objective ranking, but some guys and some teams are awful tough to bet against when the playoffs start. Lebron and GSW fit that bill. Apparently Giannis and PHX do not, ouch!

Ah, beat me to it. Santa Rosa, eh? RR brew used to be freaking crazy for dubs games in the We Believe era, wonder how it looks now!

Huge sixers fan here. Been watching them since the early 80s when Dr J, Malone, Cheeks then Barkley and Iverson played. Side note.....met Barkley at a car wash and when he stood up to shake my hand I was amazed at how big he really is in real life (I'm 5 11). He seems so much smaller on TV compared to the other players.
Anyway, I'm a fan of Tyrese Maxey....just love that intensity from a young player (reminds me of AI). Good luck to your West teams....hopefully we get to meet at the end.

Would love that! I think Philly is who I am rooting for on the east. Definitely not Boston!

For all of his accomplishments the beard hasn’t been in a finals, maybe it’s his time to shine with Embid.

Injuries rearing up again. Lebron and Steph have that winning spark but even they couldn’t win without healthy teammates around them. We’ll just have to see who’s still standing at the end.

Oh absolutely. What is that cliche line, "best ability is availability" or something ridiculous, but completely true. I never forget folks debating the big Steph contract when he was still on glass ankles. It wound up being the bet of the century for basketball, but certainly could have gone the other way too.

We saw some players get punished for losing their cool but I have to wonder if Draymond would be the player he is without riding that edge as hard as he does. Yes, it can be costly both to him and the team but I don’t think the team would be as successful with him playing vanilla ball. That hard edge IS his talent, without it he’d be just another mediocre undersized forward.
