Why?

 

talk me into buying some volks. they look amazing but the price is stupid. but they look amazing. but the price is stupid. ugh. they're 6lbs lighter than the BR chambers im otherwise looking at. also great looking wheels. but the price is 1/3 of the volks.... help

 

Lighter wheels means better gas mileage…the money you save in gas will pay for the higher price of the Volks…plus you love how they look and you can’t put a price on your happiness…boom, talked you into buying them.

 

Ha!! unfortunately my wife's estimate for the cost of my happiness is relatively low..

Nice. I’m going to 88 rotors once my Kings get in from Accutune. How do you like the Fox’s? Overland outfitters on YouTube said they were horrible

 

285/70-17 Toyo AT3’s on Westcott Designs lift. Zero rub.

 

Honestly I saw those "horrible" reviews on YouTube with the blind test and everything. I haven't really had any other off road vehicle nor any off road suspension so the fox 2.5 DSC is my first of road suspension. I like it. I took it to Gorman yesterday actually and had tons of fun. I had it on the softest settings and it did well for me. As for on road, it is great. I love the drive. It is more firm than stock of course.. ( I think that's normal). in the overland video on YouTube, they are using a different spring which may be causing the issue..I think it was great.. especially going a little fast on the whoops and trails.

But I do at times wish I went with kings mainly for the color and also notice ALOT of people do kings instead of fox. I am not sure why but I think instead of rebuilding this suspension when its lifetime expires, I will give Kings a try..

 

Stay with what you like vs what everyone else goes with. King shafts are soft and pit easily. Fox uses a hardened shaft. King bodies also rust out fast esp near the coast. Fox uses an aluminum body. Tho fox came on my new pro I’ll keep them awhile. They been nice so far, tho a lil soft, and after installing the Westcott designs lift, they’re a lil stiffer and more to my liking. Fox elites are awesome so I’m still thinking on em’ vs Bilstein 8112/8100 as these are fire too!

 

Honestly, I’m still going back and forth between the king 2.5 with adjusters and the fox 2.5 performance elites. I’d be getting both from accutune. I ordered the kings but can still change it since they’re on back order

I rub all over the flaps but I’ve just been lazy about taking them off.

The Razr is a killer tire, super quiet, smooth and controlled on road wet and dry, looking forward to getting off-road with them; braking and mpg sacrifices are proving to be less than expected as well.

 

yea im not sure man. I read a lot on both..everyone has their opinions.

I had no issue on the trails yesterday. I will say that on higher speed, its much more comfortable. The shock on the softest settings on the DSC was not bottoming out and I was going pretty fast through some whoops and trails. im pretty happy with the fox 2.5. I need to find a tacoma friend with king 2.5 to test them out and just feel it out
