Why would they do coil for all tundra trims but not with the Tacoma . It literally makes no sense

I wonder if the access cab will be like the new Tundra with smaller regular doors and not the suicide doors.

I hope my ordered Z71 doesn't arrive in the next 2 weeks. I like to keep my options open.

You act like Toyota is the only company that does that sort of thing

The Tundra is an upscale truck, a low priced Tacoma option could be appealing to small businesses.

I could think of a handful of reasons, but it'd all be purely guessing, so I don't think my uneducated guesses would convince you that it could be a possibility.

To be 100% honest, I've never in my entire life seen a business with a fleet of tundras. I'm sure they're out there, but not anywhere near me. I say that just to drive home the point that businesses love (cheap) low end base model trucks for their fleets. Tundras even in the lowest trims these days aren't affordable (for a fleet).

We just had one as a rental, and its definitely deceiving. You open the back door expecting a full back seat, but instead you open the door with proper seat and ZERO legroom. Unless the person driving is 5' tall, those rear passengers won't have any room. Maybe okay for little kids that are just in a booster...still its tiny.

No it doesn’t. Toyota does a lot of odd ball stuff. They have no interest in the commercial vehicle market in the US, so why now do it to one trim level in a small niche vehicle line? Sure the Tacoma sells well, but nowhere near the F-Series who sell a shit ton of commercial vehicles.

Don’t even know why they even have rear seats, would assume the people who buy the access cab are like me, don’t have kids or empty nesters and use it for storage. Wanted rear seat delete but wasn’t offered in the trim I bought. Almost bought a Ranger since Ford offers that.

So the 2.4t in the highlander makes 265 hp and 310 tq

The Ranger 2.3t makes 270 hp and 310tq

Is Toyota going to surprise us and beat the Ranger power numbers?

Don’t know, Toyota always been conservative with power…so doubt they’ll top Ford. But I have seen stranger things

But people still buy the Toyota's even with the lower power ratings. Just whatever meets their needs is all.
