Lol! I used to do that! Occasionally do that to the wife even now. :) these days it is tea or ice coffee.

Probably shouldn’t tell the story of when I was 16 driving the ‘72 Chevelle and blew past the cop at 120 mph in a 45. That one got my license suspended for 6 months.

one of the many reasons I drive the speed limit now. Think I need to put that on my back window for tailgaters, this why I am driving slow! Quit giving me a dirty look when ya pass me. Of course am at the age where I like seeing people loosing their bowel control in my rear view. Ahhh…it’s the simple things they say. Lol!

lol - funny what it takes to learn a lesson.

Speaking of cops. I was a young guy around 1982’ish and was at day time BBQ party. Many guys with hot muscle cars were there all talking smack. My ‘69 GTO Ram Air IV had a nasty reputation of being one if the fastest around. Another guy was there with a ‘70 GTO Judge 455. A couple of my friends were egging him on to race me as I stood in the background quietly. After some time of being harassed he came up to me and challenged me to a race which got pretty loud with others egging us on. Me, ok let’s go. Several cars loaded up spectators [lots of girls wanted to see this] as they followed us to a country 2 lane road…Colorado. In the middle of a hot summer day.

They staged off a 1/4 mile. Some people were at the starting line while another group were at the finish line. I wish I had looked at this 1/4 mile track before racing. Somehow I ended up with the suicide lane [left lane] which I never was comfortable running in with any race. We took off and I jumped out and gained two lengths. About mid track there was a slight hill and as I came over the hill still in the left lane and I was head on with a state trooper. Oh shit! I made it to the right lane just in time as he went by, I look in my mirror and see him hit his brakes and his lights go on as he’s flips a U/turn. I also see in my mirror a cloud of dust to the right as the other GTO took a side dirt road and hauled ass to get away. The cop chose me to come after. He got me for a speeding ticket and passing [passing lol] on a double yellow. Apparently he thought I was passing the other car. Really!? I questioned in my head whether he saw the other GTO and a two sets of people and cars on both ends of the 1/4 mile out in the middle of nowhere. As I’m being pulled over the two groups of people loaded up and took off out of there. My buddy that was with me and I went back to the party where all of them were [except the other GTO driver who never came back] all laughing up a storm as I was the hit of the party. Was it worth it? Yes, more women suddenly engaged at the party and that car gained even more local notoriety after that day.

    Lol! That is awesome!

That night was drag racing at 2:00 am blowing past the cop at 120, I took a side road. Hid out in the woods all night, came home at 8:00 am, mom was pissed! The cops were at 3:00 am looking for you, (got my plate number). Was awfully dumb at 16.

He came to the house later that evening, he was pissed…”were you drinking?” Nope “were you high?” Definitely not! Mean while was thinking in my head, my girlfriend was chucking all the paraphernalia out the window while we were you were chasing us. Lol!

Surprised I have lived this long. Lol!

Years ago I was in my GTO at 2am coming off the main highway onto the country road I lived off of. As I was exiting a Sheriff was sitting down below the exit at a closed down convenience store. I saw him there as I exited and obeyed all traffic laws. Next thing I know I see him in my mirror pulling out with his lights on. Must have been because it was so late and the way that car looked. Something clicked in my head that has never happened prior or after. I decided to run from him. I knew that road like the back of my hand so I turned my lights off and punched it. No way could he keep up in short spurts and luckily for me that’s all there was until an S turn in the road. I maneuvered around it at Mach I just by the light of the moon. After the last curve I had an 1/8 of a mile to my short dirt road home location. There’s a right hand turn right after the S turn that is another main road. I saw him in my mirror take it just before I hung the next right which was my dirt road home road and which climes a mountain. I got to top where my house was and I could see him from my driveway across the valley with his lights on flying down the other road. He never figured it out and came back to find me. Lol
Stupid things we do as young men.

Always good to know before you have a "head on" due to playing with dashboard screen that display told you "SQUAT". R.I.P.

The #1 reason I will never buy a current Tundra, 2024 Tacoma if it has one that size or any Dodge, Ford or Chevy/GMC with this ridiculous screen sticking up from the middle of the dash. I think my truck is outstanding in just about all aspects, but can barely stand the touch screen in my 2014, which (IMO) is sub-par for a touch display even if it was still 2014. If you have to touch the option you want more than once, it's sub-par and on mine, sometimes 4-5 tries doesn't work. The new Tundra interior is nice with maybe the exception of the weird fabric patterns on the seats... Then you see the Drive-in theater screen sticking halfway up the windshield. Nah-uh.

I just had a new Tundra as a rental. It's definitely a nice console area. BUT, it feels cheap. The plastic for the cup holders and arm rest console are all very cheap plastic. Sort of a bummer because it doesn't feel rugged enough for long term use and abuse.

Yeah I hear that. There is a lot of cheap feeling plastic on my 3rd Gen compared to my 1st Gen. Though Toyotas always had a cheap feeling to them, from the plastic to metal bits, but they seem to last and last.

True. I just feel like so many automakers have figured out how to make cheap and nice interiors - look at Honda, that Toyota could definitely improve on some of those materials.

Yeah for how much these things cost, it needs to be nicer. The instrument cluster clear plastic on my 3G sure does scratch easier than my old truck. They sure did go cheap on few things. Old truck you could take a microfiber towel and wipe it, nothing, new truck I already scratched the hell out of it. Afraid to touch it now.

Basics. Tires, painted headlighes, UHLM, baby winch in the bed, and heated mirrors :)
My opinion is worth exactly what you pay for it, but god I hate the awful gaping-mouth faces that toyota copypastes on every vehicle after 2017ish. The rest of the styling I can acquire a taste for, but I never could get used to the giant dumb faces.
