What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

16" FJ alloys, blasted and spraybombed. Two color - gloss black interior, hammered gold faces.

 

Are you getting rid of your old exhaust?
If so, is it for a DCSB & are you in CA?

 

Access cab in CA if the license plate is accurate.

 

I don't offroad enough to warrant anything else lol. Cutting it a bit was cheaper than a 2.5 front end conversion too

 

Did you get your ott tune done at one of their shops or their remote service?

 

Had it done by a local tuner. Took maybe 25 minutes including the test drive

 

Definitely on my next mod list and an intake spacer as well. Already got a yotawerx tune and it is phenomenal

 

Received my Suma Performance mirrors. But after removing the oem one, I noticed the mounting surface is different.

Has know what year came with these mirror motors/mounting surface?

 

sorry but i'm keeping all my stock parts for now.

 

Greased my DS zerks. I do it with every oil change interval and I swear it they all take like 5-6 pumps before it builds pressure and splooges grease out. Where does all the grease go?! Haha

 

Sorted out the Schrader valves on the new bumper for the rear bags.



Got the new 7/4 pin combo mounted to the new hitch.



Drilled a hole and mounted the SAE connector for my Chinese diesel heater.



And I ordered a buncha stuff to redo my OBA set up.

 

I did a little headlight restoration:





My advice: don't wait until they are this bad to do it...lol

 

what did you use? those look great. unless you taped to protect the body while removing them

 

Since they were pretty bad, I used sandpaper first, then broke out the Cerakote ceramic headlight restoration kit. It's supposed to be good for the life of the vehicle, so (fingers crossed) I'll never have to do that job again on my Tacoma.

I masked the headlights off using painter's tape so I wouldn't have to remove them.

 

ooooh I like this. I may look into doing this when I replace my rear bumper and hitch in the next month or two.

 

the cerakote system worked really well for me. I want to order the larger kit and clean a set of headlights on my 2nd car.

 

That is a mighty clean setup you have there!

 

I like to think I'm no lazier than the average bear, but I just throw a new set of Chinese knock-offs at it every 4 or 5 years.

Of course, that means you have to deal with the diabolical "side bolt

 

what knockoffs are you using? ive gotten some where only a few bolts line up at all

 

I sure couldn't quote a brand, but that doesn't really help much in this case.
Amazon with good recent reviews go for $100/pair.
*shrug* They've worked ok for me.
Hell, he originals started fogging up within 4 years and they're $200 each.
