I'd look through their site and make sure it's the right option, but IIRC most people who do a disc brake swap use one of their MC swaps.

Yeah it was the correct one. That solves that. I can finally have working brakes in the truck again lol. No more yanking the ebrake.

Don’t know if you watch or have watched this Richard Holdener guy on YouTube but you should go with the TrailBlazer SS manifold like the one in the link below and watch the video it’s pretty interesting. He also test adapters and they just don’t work very well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I shaved mine down, had a friend put a skim coat of Bondo on it, I blocked it down then hit with a couple coats of hammered texture rattle can, I found out you really don’t apply it like regular paint you got to spray it dry and splotchy then after you get the texture one last wet coat. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LFXLFTW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 I purchased it at Walmart because there’s one just down the street and Amazon was over a week for delivery. Anyway really none of my business just thought you might be interested.

LCA Pivots are done. Final assembly goes on tomorrow. JD fenders also arrive tomorrow so that'll be getting done as well. 454 is doing an incredible job.

Im getting restless. I cant wait to get the truck running.

I follow him on instagram, he knows his stuff. If I was building some power monster, id probably do that, but im prioritizing lower profile right now, just because of fitment issues. Also, saves me some money by buying a 30$ adapter rather than a whole new intake. I know im missing out on some HP, but im not upset about it. Just like the idea of a nice reliable STOCK LS going in the truck. It is a Toyota after all. Can't make it horribly unreliable, despite my urge to throw 800HP at it.

As long as you stay away from that cylinder DOD bullshit GM isn't too bad. I did buy one of the worst transmissions they offer, but oh well. If it blows I'll just go stronger. I got a deal on it.

For some reason, seeing these pics made me feel like this was the point of no return on the tacoma. obviously we passed that point a long time ago, I just thought it was funny.

JD inner fenders getting slapped on.

Now if you watched the video you see the TBSS manifold and the LS6 manifold make the same upper end HP but the last 1000 rpm’s the LS6 has maybe 5 more HP. It’s the bottom end and through most of the rpm range that the TBSS manifold kicks @$$. And adding a damn plastic manifold is not going to even give you 50 HP more. But the low end torque is where you drive day in and day out. Even in my 3200# regular cab 5 lug I had a truck / torque cam installed because I have no plans on spinning it to 7k rpm’s. Even though the trans is designed to take shifts at 7k and a twin disc clutch is rated at 700 foot pounds doesn’t mean I want to drop my Truetrac on the asphalt with a gallon of 90/140 Lucas gear. (It’s what ECGS recommends and they see more of these than just about anyone.)
And OMG you’re crying about a $350 manifold when you forked out God Only Knows on Suspension Mods… and absolutely don’t worry about manifold to hood clearance! Plus you can get $500 plus for the LS6 manifold. Owners with real clearance issues are dying for your manifold!
Oh I know the owner of the TBSS manifold and he said he do a swap and add cash for the LS6

Worm why don’t you help us little guys out that don’t have those mad fabrication skills with some motor mounts? Please!!

I just bought a tmr kit engine mount kit and will make some brackets to mount it to the frame. I don't have the stock engine mounts any more so I don't have a way to mock up and make something that uses the stock mounts anymore unfortunately

    Sir,

First thanks for your reply! I’m Dead serious Thanks!

Second everyone who’s LS swapped that I have been able to contact and I’ve contacted everyone that I can. Everyone has removed everything between the frame rails down to the rails.
Now they have plated the inside of the frame rails with flat plate some using with up to .250 wall @ maybe 12” long (little no a lot over kill if you ask me) most using appropriate .190 / .200 wall. Most do something like what’s in the Amazon link, but trust me the ears / tabs that you would weld to the frame rails are WAY to short! It wouldn’t hurt to weld a plate across the top or maybe something in the center with a dimple die hole to give it a professional look and a lot of strength. Also the urethane absolutely needs to be able to lubed. Because trust me they will squeak like a pig. I would also see if you can get the Polly in Black Graphite. I’m guessing you have a Polly distributor you work with? The larger diameter Polly the better it will dampen harmonic vibrations. I know Polly comes in different harnesses. (Completely up to you!) Might pick two different ones so customers can pick between “Race” and “Performance”! Because trust me the guys that buy hard stuff will be back to buy the softer ones in 6 months to a year. Everyone thinks they want a race car until they drive it for more than 6 months then they are ready to give it away.
If it was me *I* would sell the plate for the frame rails separate not welded. Then the pieces that weld to the frame rails welded together (not welded to the plate) just trim to length and weld. I’m guessing customer’s may want to move the engine up or down. Be a nice addition to mount your truck’s LS back and as low as you can. Hopefully you still have the stock cross member/s, make mounts like yours completely welded. The completed mount with Polly to bolt to the block this piece could be pre made and powdered coated if you can find something that meets your requirements. Next addition could be finding a rear sump pan that clears the cross members and front axle. There are all kinds of pans for the LS and I understand the Gen 5 LT engines have a different mount on the block but I don’t know, please check!
Let us know if you come up with something because I might be your first customer!
We need more owners to come aboard. A friend of a friend had an LS installed in his Jeep and it’s 100% in emission compliance! We need this for 2nd & 3rd gen Tacos…. Maybe give the first gen Bronco a run for its place. Just thinking out loud… hahaha….

It's not even the money aspect, it's the fact that id rather not even deal with it. I already have a lot to focus on and deal with to get this thing running. Maybe when it's running and driving I might decide to fuck with it and get a set of ported heads and intake with a cam. The suspension was expensive, im trying to save where I can especially if I don't even need to spend more to get it driving

Any take off parts you’re willing to get rid of? Would help supplement a little of what’s going out.

    Stock take off parts?

The only thing worth a shit are the SPC control arms I had, the kings got a sold a while ago and I threw some stock bilsteins I got for 100$ on it. What other stuff did you have in mind?

At one point we talked about the spc arms but I didn’t know you had already sold off the kings. Just figured part out what you can while you’re spending to help a bit.

I swear everything I’ve thrown away someone wants to buy a week later.

Yeah that’s typically how it goes. I think the only thing worth selling that i have left are the SPC’s

On a first gen w a solid axle (motor raised to max height) a truck intake isn’t even close to an option. You have to use an ls6 or fast non truck. I assume it’s the same on a 2nd. You will also need a low mount ps alt bracket.
