If you get east of the Brule river towards Corny / Washburn there’s still a lot of snow on the fire roads ,this is a picture I took yesterday near Valhalla
    upload_2023-5-4_19-36-22.jpg
yes ,this was taken from inside my Jeep.
The Brule river was a little high the other day when I went over it on hwy 13.
Have fun,no bugs yet but the ticks are out up here now.

Bunch of my students were out playing in the Barrens last weekend. Looked like a snowy mess... Sad I missed it.

You’d really need those nice tires you’ve got ,the snows still deep up on Perlys flat.
The banks going onto the fire roads off 236 are still 3 feet deep although once past them it’s only a foot and a half now.

Lol. Obviously a slight exaggeration on my part but damn if the roads aren't trash right now. Straight up tire poppers on the route I take home from work.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I was going to say: IT'S WORSE?! but then it occurred to me that the frost is probably coming up, so yeah, it's probably worse. I kept wondering how the county didn't wreck plows on that shit!

I drove a municipal plow for 22 yrs. When you're young and stupid, yeah, hit the gas. After a few close calls you start to respect power of gravity and the kinetic energy involved. Ain't no fun when the 40,000# truck goes where it wants and doesn't care where the wheel is pointed. Ice..storms....SUCK!!
You don't hear of many snowplow accidents. They happen but are rare.
