I used the one on my 2012 to power a 1/2hp sump pump during a storm.

Charging a cordless nebulizer to combat wife's Asthma while on the road. Extremely valuable to me for that.

I have Makita 18lxt tools. It will trip if I try to charge my Batts while driving. Useless no but useful in limited situations. I have a bestek 1200 watt inverter that I use for a griddle on tailgates with the engine running attached directly to the battery. Could just run a small generator but I'm stubborn and hate carrying it and the gas smell associated with it. It is what it is.

Magic Bullet brand mini-blender is under 400W draw for tailgating/camping.

Most other things that can run on a 400W AC circuit have equivalent versions that'll run off of 12V DC though, at least from the things I've ever thought to look for. Inflator, laptop/device charger, phone/battery charger (except power tool batteries), portable electronics (do they still make laptop-sized dvd/bluray players?), work lights; all could be run off a 12VDC adapter as easily or more easily than a 110v inverter.

If you're looking to run a landscaping/gardening business it'll run chargers for 40V or 80V electric equipment batteries, but you'd need to be driving pretty far between jobs to get much benefit from it.

Same, now I have two 110V locations I don’t use. Well, once or twice we’ve used the in cab 110 while traveling to keep a laptop juiced.

I've used the outlet for charging tools and laptops. Also have used it to power a 120v audio receiver and outdoor speakers for playing music in parades.

That's impressive with the start up draw on a sump.

Best and maybe only use was for a heated blanket for my dog on my way to Tahoe a couple of ski seasons ago. With a bed camper it definitely did the trick!

Also OP I have a friend who uses the plug to run a small iron so he can wax his skis…

1/2 hp sump pump gotta draw 800/1000 watts. Seems like way too much. The Tacoma inverter is very sensitive and trips with not much of an overload. I'm thinking a fish tank pump would trip it.

    ceramic heater on low
    crock pot

laptops that use usb-c PD and pulls 120w through that silly cable
    18v 20v battery chargers
this was all doable without the anytime mod, but it makes this a lot easier to do while on the road. i find it silly that they have such a large receptacle for the 120v and the tiniest foil wrapped cables running some 10 ft into the cab..

i was surprised i had the blender crushing ice worked with the engine off and didn't trip. I checked with a kill-a-watt and it was peaking at 250 on the house line before the trip.

easy bake oven will probably work too

Coffee grinder a few times while camping. That’s about it for me. Thought it was lame to start the truck just for that.. bought and use a manual/hand grinder now.

I plugged a ryobi table saw and it worked fine to cut some pieces of wood. Also to inflate an Air mattress, for everything else i have a portable battery(solar generator)

With anytime mod, I could charge my Gooloo battery pack while also taking over running the fridge while driving. Once I shut off the truck, fridge goes back to sucking power via 12v from the Gooloo.

I ran a 300W heat gun off it. I have a detached garage and needed to heat shrink some wiring on the motorcycle.

I have used it for my dometic fridge a few times but I have a 12V direct in the cab and someday I’ll get one going in the bed.

Best use to date was transporting fish when we moved 1000 miles last year. All fish survived. Ran a heater and a bubbler. I might have been able to find 12V equivalents but not being the fish expert it was nice to be able to minimize risk and just pick up the bin and drive.

I like the dog blanket, that makes a ton of sense.

FAR from worthless for me, I have used it for soldering irons, glue guns, and all kinds of miscellaneous field repair. Obviously these tools come in cordless form, but you need 1) the tool and 2) a charge for that to be of any good.

To be pedantic I have not yet used the outlet on my Tacoma, but the FJ my father drove had the same feature, and I used it many times there. So much so that it was a reason to buy this Tacoma.
