My Early 3rd gen had no needle bearing

The OE needle bearing was in the stock differential carrier that you (OP) no longer have. What you are looking at is the bushing ARB uses in their carrier. So yes, the bearing went bye bye when you had the ARB installed.

 

I was thinking that too.
I was pretty sure the bushing is thinker than the one he is showing.
What ever it is, it does seem like it’s as tight of a tolerance as the ECGS bushing.

 

Ok thank you for that answer. For any one that i may have commented back to and sounded like i was being an ass, I apologize. I had a rough week and was just so confused about the needle bearing mystery(and the fact that i bought the dang ecgs bearing years ago thinking sooner or later my truck was gonna have the vibration). Any way thank you to all who chimed in.

You’re right and I apologize for coming off like an ass. Truck had almost 10 miles i think. Another member posted that the ARB differential carrier came like that and when my stock one got swapped out for the new one, the bearing that ARB uses was already installed which makes total sense and that explains why it doesn’t look like the ECGS bearing. Mystery is over
