I currently have a 2008 toyota tacoma trd sport with a 4 inch rough country lift as well as 33" bfg all terrains. The issue I'm having at the moment is this insane axle angle I am having. Usually when you lift a vehicle the angle increases which I understand it's harder on things but I enjoy my truck lifted. Everything was fine until I got into a minor fender bender. The company doing the work took my truck said the frame was fine fixed my truck and gave it back. I noticed the axle angle was decreased and the truck looked squatted in the front so I figured it was the struts since it has 246 000 kms on it. I changed the struts with monroe quick struts and same exact angle. I'm not sure if something bent or broke I checked everything. I got the struts at canadian tire and was thinking maybe they sold me the wrong ones (4 cylinder instead of v6) but on monroes website it says they are correct. Once I lift my vehicle on a jack the angle corrects and the springs detension nothing else moves. Did I get the wrong strut or possible to get a bad batch of struts? The spacer on top of the strut is the 4" spacer that comes with the lift. New control arms upper and lower and all new ball joints and tie rod ends. Please help. Here is the attached picture. Also new diff bearings and seals in the front end. Thanks for the help in advance

It is like the front differential is lower than the center of the wheels?
Like a drop bracket lift, with out the lift?

Weird. Sorry man, I can’t help.

I know I don't understand it either. I called my insurance because I figured the company who did the work did something wrong. They blamed it on me putting in the new struts. I'm not an auto mechanic but a journeyman millwright lol hard to mess up struts. Hoping I can find an answer.

Need more pics. Multiple angles of upper and lower control arms. Strut you installed, etc.

Also from here looks like the driver side is worse than passenger side. Any pics of the accident damage?

Dude. That's more than a fender bender. Can guarantee you had at least some frame damage. Was the lower crossmwmber from rough country replaced?

    That’s a drop bracket lift.
They didn’t use the right spindles is my bet.

The company doing the work said the frame was not bent and everything lined up right. They bought me a new lift kit and all they changed was the spindle on the one side I have all the rest at home in the box. Was thinking of just changing it all out to see. I call it a fender bender because an old lady pulled out in front of me and I hit her going maybe 20-30km an hour. Airbags didn't even go.

Also the struts weren't removed after the accident I installed new ones myself and put the newer spacers in and threw out the older ones.

Also to add I brought it to 3 separate garages who claimed everything is tight and lined up and said that I should be grateful the angle is like that and not steep. I know something is wrong I'm 23 but not blind lol. I'd rather have a steep angle knowing it's normal.

They are the correct spindles I have the 4 inch lift in the box and one spindle is out as they only changed the one side.

Side note: It's crazy how the spindle sheared off where the tie rod connects. Not common for a stock spindle, aftermarket is another story. The tie rod or steering rack should have let go, before the spindle just split in half.

I helped my brother with his 6” Rough Country lift on a Ram truck.
I wasn’t too impressed. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t horrible, but that’s why they are “cheaper”.
I was questioning the front driveshaft spacer setup. Along with taping templates and cutting cross members. The rear axle linkage was sketchy. If you don’t get that one right the whole axle is off.
I have no desire to ever do another one.

I bought it like this (lifted with a normal axle angle lol) and everything was fine. I done it on my ranger and it was horrible. But it's what you get for 1000$ CAD lol
