What I need in a house.

1 bedroom.
1 living room
Small kitchen
1 full bath w/walk-in shower and chair height elongated toilet.
Large capacity Washer & Dryer
Refrigerator.
Microwave.
Dishwasher (not required, but be nice)

Detached over sized 2 car garage would also be nice.
But I could settle for a metal carport with 3 of the sides enclosed.

Paid for.
Far away from neighbors.
Everything works.

A garage the size of a Sam's Club would be nice too.

 

Second the neighbors comment.

 

My nearest neighbor is a 1/4 mile away and I live on a 3 house dead end road.

Double-paned windows with clear ceramic tint, combiend with a Trane variable-speed HVAC system, should do the trick!

 

My friend Helen's house was built in the 1830s, and she actually uses on of the bedrooms as a walk-in closet!

 

I have been out all day with Amanda. We went to three car shows on Saturday, including the huge cruise night in Pottstown, and we are going to another car show at Cabela's in Hamburg!

Anybody who has been seriously following my thread for the last few years knows that I have developed a serious soft spot for pre-2001 Chrysler minivans, especially the pre-1996 models, and even more so the pre-1991 models. This is especially true for 1989-1990 models, which were available with the 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, like 1989 Dodge Caravan SE that I saw on Saturday...


May 6th, 2023:

Pottstown, Pennsylvania

 

The present owner bought it for just $850 and basically rebuilt the engine (including the turbo). It has the 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic, but the owner plans on swapping that for a 5-speed stick. This van has the mid-level SE trim, and is fairly basic, but still reasonably well-equipped; A/C (was nonfunctional when the current owner bought it and the compressor has been removed), tilt steering, cruise control, and an AM/FM stereo.
The odometer shows only 116K miles, but the engine has been totally rebuilt, including a new head gasket and a rebuilt turbo. It is in rather rough condition right now, but it has a never been wrecked and has a clean title, and the owner plans on restoring it. Everything works with the exception of the A/C! The current owners wants to make the van more perfomance-oriented and does not plan on replacing the A/C compressor...

 

The 5 Speed conversion will definitely up the fun factor.

 

For some reason, the original owner opted for the 5-passenger seating layout with no 3rd row seating...

 

Tailgate speakers, the precursor to what the Dodge Caliber would have almost two decades later!

 

I can smell the cigarettes and domestic abuse from here.
