So, I was driving home from the dealer after picking up the TRD intake kit (Got it at the sale price of $320!) and I got tapped in the rear.

Didn't do much damage, scratched the paint, and pushed in the right corner a little bit (The plastic). Took it to the Toyota dealer collision shop and the estimate is $1227. The Other driver has admitted fault, the insurance company is sending a check after all the paperwork is done.

So, I was looking for a tough rear bumper with options I can add on later, will accommodate the parking/blind spot sensors, and isn't stupidly priced.

I was thinking of the 4 Wheel Parts branded rear bumper as the reviews say it will accommodate the sensors, it has the optional 2 swingouts, rock light and reverse light bar mounts.

Additionally, the Morimoto 3rd brake light with the hyper-flash module to hopefully prevent this again.

The flashies permeate through their phones and catch their attention.

I'm almost certain the 4WP bumper will accommodate backup sensors, but not BSM... the BSM sensors cannot permeate through metal, hence the OEM plastic bumper caps.

Apogee Offroad was working on a BSM compatible bumper, but I'm not sure where they are in that process.

I sat at a red light today and watched the young lady next to me text the whole time the light was red (her face pointed down buried in phone screen). She noticed light was green and proceeded to race off to next light caught the red and when I came up she was repeating the process all over again. My son says for as much as she’s texting making a phone call would have been easier and shorter at which point I said ‘you can’t fix stupid’. We are in trouble as a society.

The 4WP rear will accommodate the BSM sensors. The corner caps are plastic as they are removable for the add-on swingouts. With the BSM sensors, you either have those or the swingouts. It's basically the only bumper that can take them. It does add a nice relocation point for the backup camera though. I ended up going with this bumper since it was the only one for BSM, and I could get it locally. I like the 4WP front. That's going to be next in a couple months. Need to get the backup lights for the 4WP bumper now....

I went through the same issue and landed on the 4WPs bumper too. Install wasn’t too bad and I’ve had no issues with the sensors. Was the biggest selling point of the bumper. I did the install myself. Definitely beefier. I could bend a number of “structural” parts of the bumper by hand.

There weren't any real "Structural" parts of the original bumper. Just a thin frame and assorted plastic attached to the tow hitch.
