Need advice/help with choosing new clutch & flywheel

    I've been doing quite a bit of reading about what type of clutch to run on my 2010 Tacoma 4.0 w/ a 6-speed. I off-road maybe 1-2 times a month and other than that it's just commuting with little traffic. For upgrades that have to do with the clutch, I have a short throw shifter, 33s, and DTLT headers on it. I was thinking of going with a stage II clutch and lightweight flywheel off of URDUSA.com but now I'm thinking that the Aisin stage I clutch kit and Luk flywheel off of Amazon or local auto parts store is the way to go. I will also get the throwout bearing upgrade/repair kit and a rear main seal from URDUSA. My 2 questions are; Does that setup sound about right for what I do? And are there any recommendations for which Aisin clutch kit to get? Thanks a lot for any help, I'm open to all opinions/recommendations. Update. The stock clutch has close to 170K miles on it and has started to slip which is why I will be replacing it and the T/O bearing has been squeaking for the last month or so.

    Seems like a lot of off-road guys go with a heavier flywheel.
    The momentum of the heavier flywheel helps low rpm torque.
    @6 gearT444E might be able to better advise you on what might fit your needs.

    Stock is good but for heavy wheeling the heavier flywheel and URD stage 2 clutch is a nice upgrade. Tilton TOB is good to slap in there. I did a clutch masters and mines still going but alot of people have had issues with that bearing.

    Stage 2 clutch (also have)
    Tilton TOB (want in the future, to replace my CM HydroTOB)

    On an off road 4x4, at least if N/A
    You’d generally want an FW same weight as stock or heavier

    because the crap 2.57:1 or whatever Tcase ratio doesn’t help

    a Fluidampr can also improve low RPM drive ability noticeably

    but nobody wants to be part of the 100 buyers necessary for FluidAmpr to develop one for the Tacoma, a $350 part that would greatly improve both performance and reliability

    last time I replaced with stock equivalent Exedy TYK1515. Eventually upgraded to URD Stage 2. I believe it has a stronger pressure plate with more clamping force that I imagine is better off road, stiffer feel to compensate for the ease added by HydroTOB, etc

    Ya I was hoping to go a URD Stage II clutch but they've been out of stock for quite some time now. I'm not sure what other brands make a good stage II clutch which is why I'm considering keeping it OEM.

    or if you want to go cheap and have time for the truck on jack stands you can have the stock flywheel resurfaced at a machine shop for $50
