Yeah that's fair. Shits heavy, I'm glad someone else yarded all that out of my house.

God damn, small clip and yet you can tell it's a big shop.

I hear ya though. That's one of those "will take a full day just to clean" sort of deals.

I'm fortunate to have learned a shit ton in the CNC world (at the tiny level I'm at) but man, the people that post asking for help in the FB group are really something else.

Their torch not firing, or getting upset because their nodes aren't black in a sketch thus not extruding the image as they want it to is far worse than asking what the biggest tire they can fit is.

And worst of all, many of these people aren't even computer literate at all "what's all the software I have to download for my machine"...wtf?

Yeah, that's pretty bad. I've known how to do CAD workup for years and I mostly did it for 3d printing ability. It's always been fast for me to knock metal parts out by hand cause I don't do repeats much. But one of these days I'll convince my machine shop buddy to buy a table for his shop, it would save him and me time :D

This ~2012 Camry that drives by my house a few times a day has this awful cracked flexplate sound going on. I’ve been watching the slow decline of the car over the last year. Sort of funny/sad. Noise is way worse today than the last few months.

Starting a new project is always more interesting than cleaning. I do have an agreement with myself to wipe down and put away tools between even if other stuff isn't put away lol

I'm not a huge fan of the death wheel TBH, I'm quick enough but I try my hardest to use a vertical band or a sawzall whenever possible instead.

This dude drew something on Fusion.

    Brings it to Sheetcam.

Says the process of creating cut paths on Fusion is difficult.

My dude, you put $10 in gas at a gas station to drive to another gas station to fill up; why the redundancy?

Only to find out it's his first sign (not a small one).

I bet he hasn't figured out his torch cut height actual, which he'll find it conflicts with what's programmed. Doubt he's got his kerf width figured out as well. And first sign? Good luck getting a dross-less clean cut on this thing.

Expect warpage if he's just going to cut the face too cause he probably doesn't realize he should cut certain inner shapes at one speed different than his other cut paths.

We didn't even cover lead ins and outs and I fully expect one or all of these letters to start outside the letter versus inside as it should.

You're too nice trying to help these people. I joined the fusion360 subreddit thinking I'd get some insight and what a shit show that places is. If they're not complaining about features on a free product, it's people taking a picture of random ass objects and the title "how do I model this"

Feels like a ton of people expect everything to be turn key and easy like their smartphone. They have no idea the amount of background sweat and tears it takes to make it all so easy; it really shows on forums.

When I get into something new, I'm always crazy excited about it.

I expect this person to be the same way as well; nothing's worse than going into this thing as green as can be (and excited) only to have so much shit go wrong. Just trying to shed some light and offer advice before a large sheet of steel goes to waste and this person's confidence is no more.

But yeah you should see the FB group for Langmuir Systems; the number of people buying drawings blows my mind :bananadead:
