The math will take longer than level the truck.
They want you to level it.

what do you use as your reference for perfectly level, the frame cross members? The pan? Def not the wheels. Is there a unviversal place under the truck to use for leveling? Serious question.

Seems any slight variation could tilt the pan enough to make the margin of error more than a few ounces total (out of the 14 or whatever total quarts)

Service manual says +/- 1 degree. The service manual is written for dealer techs, they're talking about leveling the truck on the lift. So the main frame channel is probably a good bet for what needs to be leveled.

As for math, you'd need a 3D model of the trans, or a few experiments with the pan alone and some water.

As my wife’s BMW. Last time she had the oil changed, I don’t think they touched the filter and you have to take their word that the oil was changed…… German cars are very overrated….IMHO

Drove Audi for years…..slightly overrated, expensive and temperamental. More temperamental than the wife’s 72 MGB

    Frame.
The pan has a slope built towards the drain plug so it is hard to use it as the reference. However you can check the pan level from side to side.
Don't have to be precise, just have a buble somewhere between marks.

Wow, you guys are over doing it as far as level goes. Just have the truck on a level surface and not a slope, no need to use a bubble level. The pan is a ways away from the rear axle so even if the "level" is off a little it only has a very small effect on the pan and the difference in final fluid level is very small, maybe an ounce or two. The fluid level is not so critical that a few ounces is going to matter at all. Heck, sounds like a large amount of people get their truck from the factory a 1/2 qt low and have been driving them for thousands of miles without any clue. put the truck on a non-sloped surface and set fluid level in the correct temp range and call it good. It will likely be better than what the dealer does anyway.

It’s a fine micron screen, which is what all transmissions have to a degree of micron. I would change it especially if it hasn’t been changed ever. You’ll get all that early clutch pack material and clean the magnets too.

no, that's not how it works. it has to be in the specified temperature range.

My 2013 was basically a window screen, I was just curious if my 2021 would be the same
