This seat looks nice, is it as comfy as it looks? I'm looking over different options for mine

8 months has passed since posting that and yeah I can say I absolutely love my Sparco!

Stupid comfortable and my last decent drive was just yesterday coming back from Lake Tahoe (six hours).

Are 1st gen Tacoma seats all the same? I had the padding redone on mine when I bought the truck used, and it has packed down again over the years. It's never been as comfortable as the sturdy 4th and 5th gen 4runner seats I've sat in. Are 3rd gen 4runner seats about as comfortable as the 4th and 5th gen 4runner?

How hard is it to get the 3rd gen 4runner seats in with the bracket issue?

Toytec coilovers. Height adjustable Bilstein's. 265/75/16 MT. TRD wheels. Rebuilt r150f. Marlin clutch kit. All kinds of new parts...

I have a 98. I picked up some 3rd Gen 4-runner seats. There are many articles on here about it. Some write ups. 3 of the 4 bolts - bolted right in. I had to modify one of them but it was no big deal. No welding was required. Had to switch out my seal belt female end as my Tacoma belt didn't snap into the 4-runner one. Also - it sits you up about 3-4 inches higher.

I also added a 6" extension piece to my manual shifter handle as it felt kind of strange reaching down for it.

Shoot, that's a deal breaker. I'm only a couple inches from the ceiling, and that's with the seat probably packed down a little. Guess I'm keeping the stock seats.

Do you have the specs on the seat brackets and sliders you used. My 1998 Tacoma driver seat is pretty messed up and i'm looking for a good bolt in replacement.

You just buy it; it's a bolt-on setup specific to one's vehicle

Sparco USA - Motorsports Racing Apparel and Accessories. SEAT BASE - 600 SERIES

I got the base as well as the track set slider

Sparco USA - Motorsports Racing Apparel and Accessories. TRACK SET / SLIDER

    The seat I went with

Sparco USA - Motorsports Racing Apparel and Accessories. GT

    those Sparco seats look awesome...

but im a short guy who would have to hoist up over those side bolsters. hmm not sure that would work for my wife either.

    but they look awesome!

I'm short too (5'7") and they're stupid comfortable.

As for the bolster? I pick my leg up and place it on my slider to easily get in/out. It's just natural to do after a decade now or so.

hey im 5'7" as well.... glad to hear this isnt a bad seat height for us & that its not really an issue for entry/exit.

so its Sparco or Corbeau's if ya cant find good used seats.

On this forum as well as many others, the general consensus seems to be that Sparco seats are 1. better quality and 2. more comfortable

Apparently Corbeau is pretty good at taking stuff back, but it's because often times people are dissatisfied and want their money back for a different option.

In the end the Sparco's cost a bit more but they're totally worth it and not expensive at all.

I like my Sparco, it keeps me planted and is pretty comfy. A little tight in the bolsters though

Initial expense...ok yes it's more expensive than say finding a used seat and implementing it into your current vehicle, or even just keeping the stock seat.

But I like to look at things as long term like a mattress or something.

Sure the seat replacement is upwards over $1k, but that comfort will go on long term.

In my case a bit much to spend $1000.00 or so for a seat on my $500.00 Tacoma.

After all i drove with a 4'x4" block under an air ride seat for 50,000 miles or so.
