Those are the newest generation. If you can get those it would be a good pickup as we are slowly getting orders of these out the door and most dealers don't currently have them in stock.

What's different than the first gen? Also, I read that uService is not allowed, does that mean that I could damage them mounting them to the brackets? If I'm not mistaken, wont I have to take the lens off to put the surround on?

The 1st generation was a completely different light internally. On the older generation, we had a lens insert in place to restrict the output of the light and also create a cutoff line which didn't work as well as we wanted it to. With the new light, we switched over to a projector-style optic to really focus the beam where we wanted it to be and this allowed us to gain the sharp cutoff with the light and remove that insert completely. After removing the insert the light's overall output increased by about 50%. The light is not uServicable but you should not have an issue taking off the bezel and installing the angled bezel. Just be very careful when doing the install and have the light facing upwards. If need be you can always send the light to us and we can to the switch for you.

Wondering if anyone is running the rear tail light (RTL or RTL-S) setup. My bed rack blocks my 3rd brake light, and now with a 35" spare and a set of jerry cans hanging on my swing out, my brake lights are not as visible. Many of the rigs here share this problem, but I'm probably overthinking it. I also thought the RTL could double as chase lights if they can be configured to flash.

Could I tap power from my actual brake lights, turn signal, and reverse light, to power the RTL?

Hey @Chapman, I have seen people run our RTL-S series as a rear brake and blinker light. This will be the option you are looking for if you are interested in the blinker solution. Getting this light bar to strobe will be a task on its own as the center section is designed to be solid with the RTL-S. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Good luck. Feel free to PM me if you hit any snags. The diodes are only needed if you want the brake lights to function when your running lights are not on. I did because I was using it as a third brake light. This way you can always turn your hazard lights on and it’ll flash the amber in time with your truck.

@Baja Designs i know you guys work pretty closely with Spod, have you heard of any solutions for installing an spod in a new Sequoia or hybrid tundra? I’ve seen a couple of guys install it on the fuse box cover on the passenger side in the engine compartment then connect it to the positive lead going to the fuse box. I’m not thrilled with that idea since I don’t know what that wire is rated for.

I’m thinking of just making my own larger gauge leads and connecting to the battery in the rear of the truck.

After a talk with the Engineers the information of connecting to the passenger side box is not accurate and we do not recommend it due to it only being designed to power the fuse box. If you want to be able to run a sPOD product it would be required to run a 1ga wire from the 12V battery to a bus bar under the hood. From there you could use a 1ft sPOD cable to get power to the PCM.

One of our universal kits could be used in the interior wired directly to the vehicle's 12v battery. No issues connecting to the main 12v battery. If you are running wires into the vehicle, make sure to use a grommet, silicone, a gland, something that buttons it up tight.
