    Howdy all, what's the recommendation for an overall scan tool for my 2020 Taco? Specifically looking to scan/reset the ABS/Traction Control/Distance warning lights that all came on after I put on a winch bumper. Thanks in advance.

    I just got the xtool d8 plug in just because. Lol. $410 with the discounts and applied for Amazon card which gave me $150 gift card upon approval. Supposedly gets 3 years of free updates will see how it goes.

    Maintenance needed alerts that show up on the dash are user or dealer ( maybe factory ) programmed into the headunit. You can go into the HU settings and adjust, reset or delete them without a scan tool.

    No need to apologize for that. When they popped up for me, I kept canceling them for a couple of weeks before I finally sat in the truck and figured out how to clear them out. Turned out the dealer had added a half dozen for various things... we are all here to learn.

    I got it I had my aftermarket bsm hooked into the obd port also was causing interference. This thing is awesome does everything techstream does and probably more. Also works on my kia suv!!

    My phone, a free app, and a EM327 bluetooth OBD that cost like $12 bucks. I think you guys are overdoing it.

    Are you tuning it or just clearing faults?

    This blows those away I have 4 of those not even close. The d8 is more like a dealer tool and I try to stay far away from those guys hopefully this will help.

    I drive a Miata.
    Somebody gave me a cable for free, and my free OBD app had a $14 add-on for Toyota-specific PIDs. Thats what I used to check trans temps during fluid change.

    Unless it comes with techstream or has read/write capabilities, I don't know why you would want more either. :notsure:
