Do you drive your Tacoma 80 speed limit?

when reading the manual it says do not exceed over 80mpg
why is this? can I damage my v6 engine? I'm a lil lost on this part cause I can easily hit over 80 on the freeway ..... would like to here your guys thoughts.

Where does it say that? I hit 100 in my Taco numerous times, and have done the same in my 4Runner.

In the 1990s, doing 80 on the freeway was considered gangster according to Tupac, but it's normal now

I wouldn’t worry about that at all. The stock tires are rated to either 112 or 118mph depending on which model you get.

 

It may say not to drive it the first 2K miles in certain situations. Also hard acceleration and braking. I've seen it in the owner's manual.

 

It’s clearly about the speed rating of the stock tires. Put tires with a higher speed rating on and blaze on.

 

That's there just incase you have slow speed tires. It has nothing to do with the engine, or any other part of the truck except for the tires.

You are asking if it will hurt your engine. They very clearly tell you the exact reason why you shouldn't exceed that speed. If you read it, where the hell did your question come from?
