Do you drive your Tacoma 80 speed limit?

It literally says why right there. It's because of the tires, tires have different speed ratings.

 

Holy shit you 3rd Genners are really an odd bunch

 

In Texas we have long stretches of Interstate with 80 mph speed limits. The worst thing about 80+ is the mpg drops precipitously.

 

Moot point i thought 65mph was fast enough.

Tires have a speed rating stating what they're rated for.

I don’t know man, it’s super sketch going over 90mph even when I was new and stock. Possible, yes. practical, perhaps not.

 

But does it go 88? I’ve always wanted to go back to the future.

I mean ... certainly you can admit that in some situations, ie. freefalling from an airplane at 50k feet, while the engine is in the off position, you will certainly achieve much more than 80 miles per gallon of gas burned. So while rare, and not typical, there are situations where that can be not only achieved, but greatly surpassed.

 

Odd? No. Just trying figure out why our 3rd gens are not as acceptable as the first and second gens were more acceptable to after market parts. Now, it just seems like a grab for dollars for most manufacturers
